"A fine and warmly family operated old building tastefully updated to meet the needs of travelers visiting the area. And just an easy block and a half walk from the Plaza Grande; what more could you ask for? looking hard to find something to fault, the only thing I can think of is that the showerhead was a little difficult to reach in order to direct the flow of water. I hope that Lucia and her son Luis will be there to welcome me when I next visit their fair city."

"This is an incredibly charming hotel. Each room is creatively and uniquely decorated. The staff treated us like family, calling us by our first names each time they saw us. Breakfast is wonderful, as is the customer service. There was not a single thing that wasn't first rate. I highly recommend the Hotel La Basílica, and if we ever return to Quito, this will be where we stay. Special shout-out to Media, Josalie and Byron."

"Love the hotel. Big room with a view on the square. We stayed to nights and found the location perfect for walking or taking an Uber. Water and tea available in the lobby. "

"Casa San Marcos hotel was amazing! Such beatiful building ( was build in 1702) with all its antiques, arts all over and modern amenities for very special and unique stay. We felt we were staying in a castle two centuries ago though with all the modern day comfort and luxury."

Not walking distance from your typical Holiday Inn and restaurants but closer to the typical Ecuadorian life style and food. Its like a maze inside the hostel with creaking wood floor."

I had a room with two beds, though I only needed one and it had SO much space. It was a last minute reservation I just needed for one night, but I'm looking forward to returning and staying for multiple nights!"
