"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. "We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area. The kitchen was mostly well equipped, with a microwave, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine, plenty of crockery and pans. However, there is no kettle (we used a pan to boil water on the hob) and it was woefully short on cutlery,...
