"This a unique property, very cosy and peaceful. It was exactly as advertised and very charming with a well presented modern attached bathroom. Karen was a really helpful host and the location for us was great especially as Karen gave us so much advice and assistance to plan our day in the Grampians. Sadly due to the cloud cover we did not get to see the night sky but on a clear night anyone keen on stargazing will have a great view. "This property is surrounded on both sides by the Grampians, nestled near the town centre of Halls Gap. Plenty of wild animals to see, kangaroos, wallabies, deer and ducks are all plentiful. Your nearest neighbour is the sister house to this one (The one we stayed at was called bushland, but ironstone is also available.) Bushland is actually in a better spot as it is situated by itself, whereas ironstone is located close to another house (within 10m) so if you are after seclusion I would pick...

"Fabulous stay at this beautiful property. Location was amazing, loved the wildlife visiting. Open fire was perfect on a cool night, everything was provided to get it going. Breakfast provisions were plentiful, lovely surprise in fridge was enjoyed in the very spacious spa bath. Would have loved to have stayed longer, highly recommend. "

Kitchen had all we needed for a three night stay., a few things in the lodge needed attention, broken faucet over bath, bug screens, possibly more than one tea towel for longer stays would be great, and new sponges per stay as no spray n wipe provided. "The lady at the reception was super lovely (bonus points for a cute doggo). The location is amazing - you really do feel like you are within the nature surrounded by mountains, also within a close vicinity of some shops and restaurants too. The facilities were amazing and really clean - there were a lot of posters with recommendations for hikes and other useful stuff dotted around as well."
