Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This is a tricky one to review. I was expecting something a little more upscale. It’s clean and the food and staff are very nice, but it’s pretty rustic. Maybe my fault for not enough research. I suspect Europeans would be less bothered than Americans in general. I also expected lots of barbecue and got none.

Authentic Uruguayan ranch life, unforgettable for our family. Jonathan is the real deal, warm, knowledgeable, and he makes you feel at home immediately. This is a true working cattle ranch experience, not a typical hotel stay, and that’s exactly what made it special. Jonathan was an outstanding host and teacher.
We rode horses, herded cattle, kayaked, and milked cows. We saw plenty of animals and wildlife, including capybaras and ostriches, and even took a hammock nap before watching incredible sunsets. The atmosphere is peaceful, simple in the best way, and incredibly restorative.
Delicious organic food is served three times a day, with snacks in between. Our family felt more connected here than we have in a long time. If you’re looking for comfort, quiet, and authentic Uruguayan countryside life, I highly recommend it. If you want something real, wholesome, and deeply grounding, this is it. We left feeling calmer, more connected as a family and to nature, and genuinely grateful. I think I even cried a little.
I had a wonderful stay and really enjoyed the rustic, authentic experience. What made it special was how warm and personal everything felt — especially the home-cooked meals, which genuinely felt like having your grandmother cook for you. The hospitality was incredibly welcoming, and the whole experience felt much more personal than staying at a typical hotel. A great place to slow down, enjoy the countryside, and experience a more traditional side of Uruguay.
