"Das Buffet zum Abendessen war nicht zu empfehlen. Fleisch war trocken durch zu lange Lagerung unter einer Wärmelampe. Gemüse war ziemlich verkocht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ganz ordentlich. Aber aus kulinarischen Gründen muss man dieses Hotel nicht buchen."

"The room smelled like the breath of the last 28 guests and their ancestors all the way to Mozart accumulated over time. It clearly had NOT been ventilated for months and that caused the air to smell stuffy and stale. Extremely unpleasant. And on top of that the AC did NOT work (despite the fact that the Expedia ad clearly says it includes AC). When we confronted the front desk about it they dismissed our complaint and told us to “open the window” (excuse me??? It was cold and rainy outside!!)....

"We stayed at Hotel Sonne for two nights with our two teens. We had booked a "family room" which ended up being two complete rooms at the end of the hall with a door that could close a create a small "hallway." This was so great! It gave us a ton of space, privacy and an extra bathroom for a reasonable price. The rooms were just a tad smaller than an american sized hotel room. Our (parent's) room had a small couch behind the bed as well as small balcony. The beds were reasonably comfortable...

"Celebrated an anniversary and birthday while staying at the Waxenstein. An anniversary card and chocolates in our room and a special birthday breakfast table with champagne for my wife’s birthday. All unexpected but greatly appreciated. No doubt our future trip to Grainau will include a stay at the Waxenstein."
