**BEWARE FALSE ADVERTISING! Extremely Disappointed with Our Stay at The Gates Hotel, Miami Beach**
We Checked out today and our stay at The Gates Hotel was beyond dissatisfied with our experience. What was meant to be a relaxing and enjoyable trip has turned into a frustrating ordeal.
We originally booked our room over 2.5 months ago — specifically choosing a terrace room with a pool view so we could enjoy some outdoor privacy and unwind after a concert. Upon arrival, we were told there was an issue with our original room and that we had been “upgraded” to a suite. Unfortunately, the so-called upgrade turned out to be a room with a full view of air conditioning units — hardly an improvement.
We ended up having to repack all our belongings and wait around until 2 PM the next day to finally receive the type of room we originally booked — despite the 11 AM check-out policy. Once we did get the new room, we found that the TV was broken, and the terrace was nothing like the photos advertised online. Instead of a comfortable, well-furnished space, there were just two lounge chairs — no table, no umbrella, and no atmosphere.
Overall, this has been an incredibly frustrating and disappointing stay. The handling of the situation, from the so-called “upgrade” to the lack of transparency about what we were actually getting, has left a very poor impression. We would not stay here again, and unfortunately, we DO NOT recommend this hotel based on our experience.
