Best Hotel in its budget I like staying in this hotel. Nice Interior, Clean, Comfy and I get all with affordable price. It is centrally located in Medan. Staff are friendly and will guide you for anything from local travel to food. Easy to get taxi, near Plaza Medan Fair and also near medanese culinary.

Very few guests, Rooms were dirty. One one of the nights, I was the only guest there at the hotel. BUt reception was always helpful and called Grab for me to go to places because my phone couldn't install Grab having a Windows phone.

Overall conditions of j hotel are resonable with the price, hotel staffs are friendly and very helpful. Very very very difficult to find money changer in this city,no money changer even in 5 stet hotel, the money changer where I changed accepted 100$ note only, 10$,20$ notes were rejected, it is unbelievable.

OK hotel for a good price
I liked the location- just a short walk to a huge bazaar and many restaurants. The staff was very kind and the manager had good English, tho the rest of the staff did not. Overall, the hotel was just kind of dingy.

Worth every penny.
Arrived at the hotel earlier that the check in time but the staffs were very accommodating. They allowed us to check in earlier and even showed us the vacant rooms for us to choose. Located in the middle of the town, it's very easy to go anywhere. We used applications such as grab car and go car throughout our stay and we didn't have to wait long to get a driver. There are many motorcycle trishaws available at the end of the road but be careful as they tend to quote unreasonable price especially if you are a foreigner. The facilities were fairly good for a budget hotel. The staffs were very helpful. The breakfast was decent. Enough for us to get by until lunch time... If you want variety, there are many restaurants nearby as well. It's also walking distance to Medan fair plaza which also has carrefour in it so you can get almost everything that you need without having to travel far. Overall I had a very good experience staying here and if you're looking for a decent budget hotel with a great location and good services, I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was full- free upgrade received
I had to make a same-day booking as we had to travel to Medan with short notice for medical reasons. When we arrived in the evening we were told the hotel was full. We received a free upgrade to stay at the Asian International hotel (4*) next door. We were happy about this upgrade. I can't say anything about the J hotel as we didn't stay there.

NO HOT WATER
We had booked on Hotels.com for 2 nights. On arrival I checked the room only to find it very small, with an even smaller bathroom, and most importantly NO HOT WATER. When I said that was unacceptable, the staff initial response was to ask where we had seen it written that we would get jot water. I explained that as it is a new hotel in a major Indonesian city we assumed that we would get hot water to shower with. We were getting ready to book into another hotel, and just forfeit our 2 days rent prepaid. BUT, then we water told that we would be upgraded to their sister hotel The ASEAN International hotel. This ended up being a nice big room, with hot water and air con ,and TV and tea making facilities. So, in the end we had a nice stay at the ASEAN, but not at the J Hotel.
