Staycity Aparthotels , Birmingham, City Centre

8/10 Good

"We had a good stay at this apartment hotel in Birmingham. The room was a decent size, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. One thing we did notice was a rather strong bleach-like smell as you entered the corridor leading to the rooms. This may have been due to the cleaning products being used, but it was quite noticeable. The only other concern was an unusual encounter at around 9 AM, when someone unlocked our room door with a key, opened it, and then walked straight back out. We informed the staff about the incident, as it was quite unexpected and concerning. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and the staff were helpful. However, we hope the hotel looks into the door incident to ensure guests’ privacy and security are maintained."

The Grand Hotel Birmingham

10/10 Excellent

"It was a very nice hotel that was centrally located in the center of Birmingham. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Personally, I was not expecting the area around the hotel to be so busy in the evenings, but things did quiet down by 10 pm. Overall, I was highly recommend this hotel."

Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent by IHG

8/10 Good

"The room was surprisingly spacious for an Express hotel. The storage space and shelving was well thought out. A huge bed and big comfy chair and table. The shower room was very clean and well maintained. The bedroom was generally clean but there were some tea stains on the carpet under the shelving. I also noticed an old wrist band down behind the bedside table which had clearly been missed during cleaning. The reception, bar and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. It was an especially late night/early morning finish for the bar staff on Saturday night which was much appreciated by some members of our party. The hotel was very busy but there was a good amount of parking spaces provided."
