Nice little property that served its purpose for a single guy. I rented the Flamingo for two nights 2/3-2/4/2024 to be close to a friends house I was visiting in Cape Coral who is in failing health. I had realistic expectations for comfort as related by the pictures on the website. First night was pretty chilly and I turned off the A/c unit as it didn't provide heat. I used one of the other blankets with no issues. Next day I couldn't get the A/C turned back on despite using the operations manual. But the person I contacted was very responsive and took care of it. Thank you. the cost seemed reasonable until the extra Cleaning fees. Added together, I could have paid much less at a regular hotel and it would have been serviced daily. All in all not a bad experience but I could have saved $$ If not pressed for time. I would be cautious about renting during a inclement time periods. Side note everything within walking distance closes at 9:00 by local rules.

Something unique
Really nice Tiny house experience instead of chain hotel. Main road is a little noisy but the deck on the canal offsets the road. After Hurricane Ian the property looks brand new. We loved it and plan to go back.

My 7 yo grandson and i spent a night in the Dolphin. Best experience ever! Communications were great. I received directions and entry information via text. Super easy! The unit was everything and more. From the themed furnishings and fully equipped kitchen to comfortable sleeping. There was more than enough room for the 2 of us. The unit actually does accomodate 6 sleeping. With outdoor dining and mini cafe set up inside, plenty of space to spread out. There is a deck at the rear of the property with chairs for relaxing by the water and even a corn hole toss game. The location was perfect for us. There was access to grocery, dining and local fare nearby. We took the drive out to Lighthouse Beach which didnt take as long as expected. When we arrived back after dusk, the torches lit our path. My grandson did not want to leave. We will be back.

Nice unique experience
Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay here. We stayed 3 nights and mostly used it as a place to sleep at night while we visited family close by. They offered a deck area with a grill and kayaks to use but we didn’t get a chance to use them this stay. We would stay here again as it was a nice unique experience. There are a few things that we would like to mention. We had to call to get the door code because it was never sent to us like the email said it would the day of our stay. We were also in a bit of a panic because the phone number on the website was incorrect so it took us a bit to get it figured out and get the code. Since there were 5 of us we needed to use the couch bed. The sheets weren’t the cleanest and there was no blanket for it. Luckily we had family close by and could borrow a blanket. The bed pillows need to be replaced or more available on beds because they were a little flat. There were not enough towels for all 5 of us to use. Not sure if that was due to my husband not mentioning number of people for our stay when he booked. It also would be nice if there were a few hooks on the wall to hang clothes or towels

Very cute house and property however it didn’t seem to be cleaned the day before my boyfriend and I came to stay. It had loose hair in the shower, bathroom floor and chunks of dirt everywhere. I had to clean myself when I first arrived. Also some of the sheets were stained and had holes. Bed’s definitely need replacing because they’re insanely stiff.

Come visit the Tiny Houses down in Matlacha. The Pine Island community is working hard to rebuild. These Tiny Houses have everything you need. You are within walking distance to restaurants with great food.

The are itself is outstanding! The property seems really nice, the huge problem was that it was way to dirty, hairs all over the place, AC units clogged with too much dust. In general the place very very poorly maintained.

Thanks Jon, I tried to explain how the air conditioner works some people are simply not experienced with the split systems but the unit is less than 6 months old I know it works perfectly and the filters get cleaned with each new guest sorry for your inconvenience.

This was cute property that was different the the norm of a hotel. Pros: The area was full of eclectic little shops and plenty of options for restaurants. Many reviews said it was noisy at night but that was not our experience. We actually found it very quiet. There’s a deck with chairs facing the water which we used every evening. The movie theater, mall and bigger restaurants are only a 20 min drive. The place is equipped with dinnerware and utensils and although there’s no stove, there is an electric induction stove to use if necessary. Space in the kitchen is limited but we did have enough space for our Keurig coffee maker. (They do provide a small coffee maker, but we always prefer to use our own) Cons- A 50” tv is stated as an amenity but it’s actually a 32”. The bed isn’t the most comfortable and there no couch to sit on which makes it uncomfortable to spend too much time just laying in bed. A small table and chairs are available but not comfortable enough to sit on to watch a movie or tv. All in all, the town was wonderful and although the “tiny home” was a room in a bigger trailer, the experience was fun. However, next time, we will definitely rent the actual tiny home as it has more of the amenities we prefer.

Cute tiny home on wheels in a decent but not great location - claims of it being on "waterfront" actually was a narrow canal with views of houses across the way and views of sunset or sunrise not possible from that location. Restaurants and shops within walking distance but required walking alongside busy road with no sidewalks available - very scary with speeding traffic. Accommodations in need of some repairs/renovations. Pull-out sleeper sofa so stained and dirty didn't want to sit on it, much less sleep on it. Also, apparently it wasn't cleaned after previous occupants because half-empty water bottle left under sofa cushion, so assumed if sheets were on mattress, they hadn't been changed; had to use several bath towels to sleep on and others as covers. Several windows had blinds that had numerous missing slats or couldn't be opened/shut, while many windows had no blinds at all. Faucet water tasted like it was coming from a hose not certified for drinking water purposes. Refrigerator freezer iced up, limiting its usefulness.

Thank you for the review yes that couch is stained we have cleaned it multiple times and we are awaiting new upholstery from Ikea you know how the supply line problems are we've been waiting for over 2 weeks. Also we have 14 pictures of each unit and Ariel shots of the island so folks know exactly what to expect when they get there sorry about your confusion but I'm glad you had a good stay

We enjoyed our stay, was convenient for us to meet with friends in Fort Myers. Clean and comfortable, and many cool shops same area. Minor points: 1) loud neighbors on the deck/dock until 11pm or so 2 of 4 nights, not a "bigee" 2) "central air" was apparently shut off to our unit (Alligator Room) at night (???), wall unit was OK but pretty loud on/off all night.

It was a treat to get to stay in a tiny house. The house was clean and adorable. The owners were very responsive to questions and communications. While the tiny house was right in the center of town and convenient to everything, there was quite a bit of street noise so it was a trade-off.

We stayed in the Mermaid trailer and it was very clean, but definitely showed it's age on the inside. The plus side was the houses were close to a lot of the shops and restaurants and the deck area overlooking the water was lovely. The downside was the traffic noise. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Matlacha and the Mermaid trailer.

Experience Tiny Home Living
When I saw the listing for the Matlacha tiny home, I thought this would be the perfect place to stay to explore this area. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to live in a tiny home and this gave us a little taste of what that would be like. They’re decorated and set up very pretty with a dock and tarps that make a shady and comfortable area to just sit and take in the calmness. The home was clean and included everything we needed. The beds were OK although we prefer a softer bed. The tiny homes are located right on the main strip and within walking distance of restaurants, art galleries and shops. We came home with a couple pieces of artwork that we just loved. It’s definitely an area worth a weekend visit. One thing to note, while the description says the unit sleeps six adults, I would say it’s perfect for two adults ( maybe four if you know each other very well) and kids. There really was no place to put our suitcases to open them, or even hang up a few items, except the sofa in the living area. All in all, I would absolutely recommend a visit to Matlacha island and a stay at the tiny village.

Adventure and relaxation all in one!
This charming little property was a lot of fun. Our family of two adults and two teenagers stayed for four nights in The Flamingo (orange building) which is closest to the road. You may feel like you have to pole-vault into the "master bedroom" bed. (It’s very comfortable though!) My daughters loved having the loft to themselves. There is no daily housekeeping, and very limited space in which to hang towels or clothes. Pack light! However, we texted the owner and asked for more towels and he took care of that right away. The owner was great about answering any questions we had. Some reviews said the property was noisy and the A/C wasn't great, so we packed a small floor fan for cooling/white noise. It wasn't necessary—A/C worked great. We were right next to the road and while there is a lot of traffic, I'm a light sleeper and I was fine. The little kitchenette is surprisingly well-stocked and functional. We ate out most nights, but we had so many leftovers that we decided to "cook" them up on the hot plate in our house. The fridge and freezer are spacious. We did bring a few silicone ice cube trays and I’m glad we had them. We truly enjoyed the deck. We ate outside many times and used the deck to relax. My teens loved the freedom of exploring the island while Mom and Dad vegged out on the deck with books. We enjoyed being able to take the kayaks out. All and all, we had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay. We will be back next year.
