Our overall experience was unfortunately disappointing.
The positives: beautiful location, nice pool area, excellent natural surroundings and beach.
Language barrier: Very few staff members spoke English, which made communication unnecessarily difficult. We do not expect every staff member in Brazil to speak English, but at least the front desk.
Need of renovation: e.g., broken windows, shower fixture was completely rusted. Similar signs of wear and lack of maintenance were noticeable in multiple areas.
Food: wide selection, but the variety nearly identical every day. Dishes were consistently cold or only lukewarm, and most of the food tasted dry and unappealing. Worst coffee we have ever had. We were so dissatisfied with the food overall that by the third day, we were already looking forward to finally having a proper, enjoyable meal at the airport after departure.
Service in general also fell short of expectations. Requests were only fulfilled after repeated reminders e.g., when we needed a bottle of water. In many cases, we had to follow up multiple times or eventually get what we needed ourselves.
