From the staff who greeted us to the ranger and tracker who accompanied us in open Land Rovers on our small group safaris, every single person gave us care, attention and made us feel so very welcome. We saw amazing wildlife (6 of the Magnificent Seven), and even did some exciting off-roading in pursuit of a glimpse of the rarely seen African wild dogs who were running in a pack. "We had a wonderful stay at Marloth Park Riverside lodge. It is located about 15min drive outside the KNP crocodile bridge gate. The food was just ok but the staff is absolutely fantastic. Everyone is so nice and so welcoming. There are only a few rooms in the property. The ground floor rooms are bigger. Upstairs there is a view of the dry crocodile river bed from the large varanda and an honesty bar. I would prefer to stay downstairs. The adapted bathroom upstairs works but it is small and...

"We liked the hosts Colin and Carolien so much. They could not do enough for us. We asked for a bigger room and we got the biggest room I have ever had in a lodge! They even drove us to get food and were such great company. The lodge was brilliant - very African. Zebras came right up to us! the wildlife in Marloth Park is very tame. The lodges are African style so quite dark as designed to be cool. Colin and Carolien had a generator which worked when the power was out which was often. "

"Only 4 rooms so a very personal touch. Right in Marloth Park, our last day the Zebras turned up for breakfast, it was lovely. Staff were great. We had evening meals included, a three course meal (no choices though, so be aware, but lovely). Drinks were in the fridge, you help yourself and write them in the book. Breakfast was lovely, with the som cold foods available, toast, cereals and a few hot food choices (to order). Dining was all outside on the balcony. You dine with the other guests, so...

"Great welcoming experience. The lodge is well equipped and appointed. A beautiful outdoor shower. Breakfast was delicious and dinner in the Boma at night was divine. I would suggest eating there each evening as other options are limited. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. Wifi is a tad slow but that is to be expected in the bush. Cell signal was fine."

"Small room, loud fridge, bathroom is in need of upgrade. Not a 4 star hotel by any means (I run a lodge myself and know all qualifications and they don't meet them honestly), a 3 at most. Room not really very clean, bed is good but all furniture is old. Curtain does not close nicely. Restaurant has hardly any options for vegetarians and none for vegan. Nice setting on the river bed. "

"I stayed one night right before going into KNP. From start to finish Bernadette made me feel welcome a d was extremely friendly. I did receive a room upgrade and wow! The room was fantastic. Extremely high ceiling and fantastic backyard view. Though once twilight hits there isn't much sunlight so not much view can be seen. There is a restaurant nearby so you do not have to use the kitchens if you don't cook yourself. Also, ifyou would love to make the host happy please ask her about the lounge...

"We stayed 2 nights in Kruger Kumba, which is situated in Marloth Park. Frankly speaking, we were so regret for not extending our stay. The experience was awesome, where there were so many visitors right in front of the patio, not to mention kudu, impala, wildebeest, warthog, zebra etc. Too bad we didn't get to see the bushbabies. "Location was good and decks were nice. Owners were very responsive. The house overall was a bit too rustic for me. More importantly, had I known that there were daily power outages at the time of booking I would have definitely booked a lodge with a generator. "
