Fabulous B&B, comfortable rooms, amazing breakfast
Large comfortable room in fabulous B&B set in acres of garden. We had our own nice sitting out area. Owners sent lots of useful local info in advance. Amazing choice at breakfast, much of which was home made, which was provided in the owners' stunning vaulted living room, overlooking their lovely garden. Very quiet location, just 7 minutes drive into town.

This place is very quiet and remote. GPS may not be able to navigate. Property hot water system not working. It is winter, without hot water to take showers is really very inconvenient. However, the owner self-prepared breakfast was good.

Dear Gavin and Khim,We are glad you enjoyed our breakfasts here at the Margaret River BnB. I guess from a Singapore perspective, a 5 minute drive to the town or to the beach area where there are also restaurants, might seem a bit remote. Perhaps being tucked away in a very quiet forest is also a bit strange for you if you are used to other people being everywhere. But surprised that your GPS could not find us as everyone else has never had a problem. A tempering valve to your bathroom did fail, but you were able to have a hot shower in the vacant room next to you that morning and then it was fixed in the afternoon when you returned. These things happen so sorry you felt this was “really very inconvenient” when in fact you could have a hot shower and then it was fixed for the rest of your stay.Regards,Pam and Dirk

We stayed at the Margaret River Bed and Breakfast in June 2023, and it was a delightful experience. Nestled amidst kangaroos, black cockatoos, and the breathtaking Karri Forest, this charming retreat provided a warm and inviting ambiance. Dirk, the owner, greeted us with his trusty companion Bonnie, offering invaluable recommendations for local restaurants. The stunning garden provided a tranquil oasis, where we enjoyed evenings on the cozy patio surrounded by the serene forest and melodic bird songs. Our immaculate room boasted crisp linens, fluffy towels, and a pristine ensuite bathroom. Each morning, we indulged in a gourmet breakfast feast, accompanied by freshly brewed coffee and delightful homemade bread and jam. Dirk's local insights led us to the mesmerizing Wilyabrup Cliffs, where we witnessed dolphins gracefully surfing the swells—a truly magical encounter. The bed and breakfast's ideal location allowed easy access to local shops, restaurants, and the breathtaking countryside. The exceptional service, cozy atmosphere, and meticulous attention to detail exceeded all expectations. Our stay was an absolute delight, leaving us eager to return to this tranquil piece of paradise.

Lovely stay near the heart of margaret river
Brilliant stay here at the margaret river B&B, we enjoyed everything! Location was convenient, 5-10 min drive to the city center, the homemade breakfast was great! Room was super spacious as well. Thanks Pam and Dirk for your hospitality!! We hope to be back soon to visit the both of you and Bonnie as well!

What a great B&B! It feels like you’re in the middle of the forest no matter which view you have. Our room was spacious with a large bathroom and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit cup, cereals, yogurts, meats/cheeses, waffles, 9-10 different home-baked breads, local jams, and honey from their own bees! The attention to detail is top-notch. Dirk is super friendly and informative, giving us enjoyable itineraries while we were there. Catherine, when you ask how she is, says “Fabulous!” and she truly is! The Margaret River B&B is an equally quick drive into town or the beach. I highly recommend it.

Quality furnishings, quality bathroom fittings, quality workmanship on paint work, finesse tiling and grouting, jacuzzi for this price, comfortable beds, in the middle of bush. Superb B/ spread.home baked varieties of breads, home made varieties of jams, cereal, fruits,hime made fruit yoghurts, instant brewed coffee, variety of tea. Dirk the owner, very friendly, very good host, guides well with a marker on the map surroundings, gives hady tips around the area.a magnificent experience.

Quiet and quaint refuge from Margaret River bustle. Song birds are amazing. Nice facilities. Dirk is a great host. His suggestions on places to go and things to do are worth the price all by themselves. Complete continental breakfast. Don’t miss his honey. Short drive to downtown. Very convenient.

Beautiful surroundings, but not a great deal of space outside that’s useable for exploring or relaxing. Rooms were very clean. Very basic breakfast. Foldout bed not recommended for anyone under 5. No support and costs an extra $50 a night.😵‍💫 Spa bath just lovely. Birds beautiful. No good for anyone with kids, as the rooms are too small to fit the extra bed. Quite nice for a romantic getaway for 2 however.

It was so lovely to stay at this property, A beautiful glass of wine on arrival and coming home after a day out walking and having a bath and loved waking up to the amazing breakfast....omg the range of home made breads, fresh and stewed fruits delicious and the owners and Bella the dog, make you feel right at home. It was all these special extras that really make a difference to the stay as well as the owners hospitality. I will definetly be returning. The setting in the forest is superb; quiet, peaceful, full of wildlife and colour. However it also terrifies me with the huge fire risk. Trees and bushes are close to the building with a lot of build-up of fuel and there appears to be only one way in and out through overhanging canopy.

Dear Basil, Thanks for posting your review. All people in the SW are concerned about fires but we also have to maintain a balance. The forest in which we live is as much fire prone as any where so we do manage fire loads around the building and have a bushfire response and evacuation plan in place. There are actually two driveways out and four exit routes in different directions had you asked. So we do our best to manage the risks while at the same time living in a superb forest that is quiet, peaceful, full of wildlife and colour.

Warm, friendly hosts who go out of their way to point their guests to the best eateries, galleries, activities and wineries in the region If you are heading to Margaret River to sample the food and wines Dirk also offers personalized tours (upon request) Great breakfast made up of local produce. Plus a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Close to the beach for swimming and the town for nighttime activities. I highly recommend Dirk's B&B

We found the cleanliness of the rooms a problem. The pillows were old and smelt of sweat. They need to be replaced along with the carpet. The whole experience was dated and VERY expensive, $200, for a single room. Would NOT recommend this venue to anyone. Breakfast was from the 70's and most weird with all of the food in small plastic bags. Very disappointing and unsatisfactory for the price.

Dear Rob and Sarah, We pride ourselves in making our B&B safe during a pandemic and have been congratulated by health professionals in how we serve our breakfasts in a COVID-safe way. We are just doing our bit to make travel in WA healthy and safe. We also clean the rooms properly after each guest, using the prescribed protocols, including the carpet. Our pillows are replaced regularly but there is a pillow protector and new pillow cases (four for each bed) each time. Regards, Pam and Dirk
