"I stayed in a room rather than one of the lodges, and the room was lovely, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It's worth noting its on the very edge of the town, around a 15-minute walk from the centre of Ballater. My only disappointment was that the rooms are not serviced daily unless you are staying for a longer period, which wasn't explained at check-in. It was a little frustrating to return after a long day out to find the room hadn't been serviced, as that's one of the things I most enjoy about staying in a hotel. However, once I queried this, the staff explained the policy and provided fresh towels when I asked. It certainly didn't ruin my stay. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and I would happily stay here again."

"The hotel is old but offers excellent value for money. Breakfast is really good and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Located on a bus route between Aviemore and Grantown so plenty of opportunities for walking or just visiting local facilities."

"We loved Balmoral Arms. It was beautiful and very quaint and lovely as were the staff! We especially had a fun time in the cozy pub with an excellent dinner there also. The staff were great! We enjoyed our meal in the lovely dining room for dinner and breakfasts. Great location for seeing Balmoral Castle. Parking was very convenient!"

"Excellent 2 night stay at this family friendly hotel in October with our two grandkids. Only negative was the pool having to close for a deep clean on one night of our stay so our grandkids missed out on the pool disco, however I am sure this was required for health and safety reasons."

"Clean modern room. I liked that there was a small kitchenette included. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, cafes and the train station/ bus stops. A fantastic stay while in Aviemore."

"The property is sweet and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The location close to town is perfect if you want to park and walk about. The best part is the host Gary who is full of information on the areas and happy to give ideas on what sites to visit. Sue prepares a lovely breakfast and Gary serves it at your preferred time."
