"We loved our stay here. Room was clean and the outdoor courtyard was nice. The hotel Cafe Poppy is a convenient place to grab a morning latte. Several good restaurants within walking distance. Overall a nice beautiful historic inn."

"Very cute historical little hotel. Everything was great accept it felt a little uneasy. We were only people staying in the hotel, no staff on site at night and the front doors remained unlocked. A bit of haunted hotel experience 😅👍"

"Live life and enjoy my stay this hotel has very good staff and very good breakfast too.one thing that needs to change is refill the food and do not wait until another group wanted to eat..but more than that all is good."
"The young lady at the desk was friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was good and clean.
The hot tub was good. It was a bit of a walk, but nothing bad.
My only complaint would be the location: right next to a creepy-looking mortuary."
"Staff was extremely helpful, was there for a wedding and needed a late check in. It was arranged without any difficulty. The room was small but clean, the electric fireplace was nice to sit in front of. The breakfast was really just coffee and cereal with some packaged pastries but that's fine. Overall would come again."
"This was a nice place to stay, and given the current economy they do pretty well, the sheets are clean and crisp, the TV worked, and their Continental breakfast actually included hot scrambled eggs and sausages and a mini pancake maker! Cereal and milk, two kinds of juices, and coffee. The table area is tiny but they out big effort to see to the amenities for their guests!
The only two thing I wasn't crazy about was their pool, while clean and inviting, is rather small and situated across the parking lot, but that is just the logistics of the property site.
The other dislike cannot be helped by the inn, there were homeless people camped across the street, which made walking to the store a little uncomfortable. But all in all, I will stay there again, because their service and provisions are made in erenst effort and are good enough for a pleasant stay. Very friendly staff makes a great difference. Thank you!"
"This is one of my favorite places to stay. Lovely, charming, unhurried with beautiful architecture and grounds. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was exactly as I recall it being roughly 12 years ago - spacious, lovingly decorated, attentive details everywhere with luxurious, high quality furnishings. The Madrones is a welcome respite in Anderson Valley and great home base for local wine tasting.
The restaurant was still as cozy and intimate as I remembered, with simple but carefully crafted dishes. The dining courtyard could not be more charming. The ambiance is unbeatable at The Madrones and our experience was overwhelmingly positive. (There were a couple of minor areas of improvement: the tv wasn't properly working - but staff provided a half bottle of wine to make up for this - and the large blinds and bathroom ceiling could use dusting/cobweb removal.) All else was spotless and well maintained. I would return again and again and highly recommend The Madrones."
