Vila Gale Tavira Resort Hotel

"We absolutely loved Vila Galé Tavira! From our amazing check-in staff to the entertainment and vibrant atmosphere right along the riverside in the heart of Tavira’s culinary delights, this property is a MUST STAY and made for a truly pleasant experience. The outdoor pool and patio area were wonderful spots to relax and soak up the sunshine by the Gilão riverfront. (The onsite gym is cozy, too, with adequate equipment to get a good sweat while on property). The experience was similar to being on a cruise ship with all of the scheduled events. The pool was incredible. You can spend all day at the pool and be entertained the entire time. We had Sangria making classes, water dance and aerobic classes. The second tier of the pool has private cabanas on a first come first serve basis. Well worth it for an afternoon siesta. The onsite gym is cozy and has adequate equipment to get a good sweat on while on property. The only thing that was not a perfect score was the breakfast. It had a lot of offerings but not as delightful as I would have preferred. I did like the fact that it was included in the price of the room though, it made mornings relaxed. All in all, I would definitely return and highly recommend it for your visit to the Algarve."

"Lovely stay, I’m just not sure I would stay again due to how big and easy to get lost it is, and far away from reception, but that’s just me, everything else fab! Staff do help with dropping you to the door with bags too and all staff were friendly and helpful, I loved the aqua Zumba too, the room wasn’t really set up in a practical way but easy enough to move the beds together and for a side table, nice balcony lovely view and the beach near by is so nice!! You can either enjoy a nice stroll along the tracks or take the free train. Thanks so much!"

"The location is perfect in old town. You are close to everything and you can walk over the Roman bridge to some great restaurants along the water. Also, there is free parking just down the street so very convenient if you have a car."

"Arrived checked in with no problems and shown to our room , which was a triple deluxe room. Lovely comfy beds-even the sofa bed was very comfortable! Bathroom was very spacious and towels changed daily, we had to squish a few ants but I guess you can expect that in Portugal. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. I especially liked the small plates- stops people taking huge potions and wasting lots! The dining room was lovely- not so ‘canteen like’. Highlight at breakfast was the pastel de nata- which were freshly cooked and still warm on occasions! We only used the hotel restaurant on 2 occasions but were very pleased with what we ate there. The swimming pool was lovely- great atmosphere, nice and quiet with no loud music! We were a group of 3 and could always get loungers. We made use of the free beach towels too- nice touch. We used the minibus into tavira and the beach which was great, the only criticism was the bus didn’t start early enough, run late enough or often enough, so we used Uber taxis which were cheap enough at 7-10 Euros each way. I would definitely stay here again and Tavira town is beautiful- hoping to return!"
