First Landing Beach Resort and Villas

First Landing Beach Resort and Villas

10/10 Excellent
"The staff is AMAZING! I always felt that if I needed anything, they would readily help me. Fiji itself is lovely but more expensive than we had anticipated. However, First Landing was an excellent choice. The room was cleaned daily and really spacious with plenty of room for storage. We rented an Ocean Spa Bure so we had an excellent view of the ocean. If you're picky about shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc., then I recommend that you bring your own. First Landing is extremely kid- and family-friendly. I have a son w/ Down Syndrome and the staff went out of their way to make him feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated. He loved the high-fives, the bula greetings, fist bumps, and conversations! My kids loved the pool, which was a little cold during the winter season (but go to Beachcomber for warm beaches). The food was amazing and they offered dozens of options. My kids enjoyed the fries and pasta dishes. We enjoyed the seafood and other meals."

Nakelo Treasure Island Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent
"Don’t come here if you don’t like sand littered with coral and seashells, swimming in amazing coral reefs, watching once in a lifetime sunrise and sunsets, swinging in hammocks between palm trees, and being the honored guests of the most kind, good-humored, talented Fijian hosts, and eating delicious food made from fresh local ingredients by a talented chef. Were the complainers in other reviews telling the truth? T or F: The only equipment available for activities were 2 kayaks, snorkel gear and a catamaran that could be reserved with a guide. - TRUE. The spa/massage was in disrepair, the face rest needed better padding but the massage therapist was excellent. - TRUE. The food at Beachcomber resort was better than Nakelo Tr. Is. - FALSE The daily activities calendar was organized and fun and the culture and language classes were worthwhile. - TRUE The infinity pool was yucky. - FALSE There was litter and broken stuff around the resort. - TRUE Some rooms had plumbing issues. - TRUE The turtle nursery was gross and not properly maintained. - FALSE As a marine biology teacher, I was so thrilled at the stewardship of the hawksbill turtles. Being in their presence is very moving. This island is the turtles’ breeding ground. There were no bugs. - FALSE Yes, there were mosquitoes. Honestly not as bad as Michigan or Alaska summer, or Florida. I think all the beautiful birds take care of the bugs… THE BEDS WERE CLEAN! TRUE."

"We spent a couple nights at Malolo Island Resort on our first trip to Fiji! It was spectacular:)) From the beginning, where staff received us at the pier, to the end where they sent us off, we can’t say enough!! The entire place feels welcoming, organized, and well-maintained. It’s so well designed and has all the things an island should offer. The family bures are super clean and comfortable. They’ve thought of the little things that make your stay easy (water to wash your feet, places to hang wet clothes, extra blanket storage). The food is great, and I’d highly recommend the meal plan or it will be pricey (especially for a family with two teens!). The staff make the stay next level. They’re friendly, engaging, helpful and super hospitable. We needed short notice jet ski arrangements—they made it happen and our boys had an amazing couple of hours around the area:)) We kayaked and snorkeled (beyond amazing fish to see). Wished we’d stayed longer! We moved around a lot to get an idea of what we liked in Fiji, and this would be a must-do when we come back. Well worth the money! Can’t say enough about the staff—they are the heart of this place:))"

"A great property. Closest resort to Demerara Port but more peaceful than the larger resorts. Clean, spacious rooms. Great balconies. Very helpful staff. Couldn’t fault the place. The only thing we had overlooked when booking that there is no lift so it was challenging for people with limited mobility however the staff assisted when required."
