"There’s a reason there are no reviews of this hotel—it’s almost exclusively Chinese. My sense is that it’s used by Chinese tour groups, so when a solo American showed up, they seemed a little confused. While the location is pretty central on the map, I was surprised to find that it was very isolated. There’s nothing around it. The restaurant was closed when I was there, and so I was stuck eating hot pot ramen I bought at the front desk. The evening receptionist was lovely and helpful, but when I...

"The staff were so friendly and helpful and it was the perfect place for a family holiday with little ones. Stay in the resort or venture outside for a bit of everything. Would definitely go again!"
"The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the room itself was okay. However, our stay was let down by poor communication and lack of attention to detail.Other guests did not respect the 10 PM quiet hours and spent nights partying until midnight. Housekeeping was also inconsistent; one day they removed a towel leaving us short for a couple, they forgot to replenish our toiletries, and every time they made the bed, the cushions and bed covers looked messy and out of place. Most frustratingly, this trip was for my husband's birthday. I requested a special surprise for the next morning on our arrival. They agreed, but nothing happened. When I followed up, I found out the team had not passed the information to each other. Although the lady at the bar offered to fix it after I complained, her attitude was quite dismissive, which was very disappointing.Ironically, we had dinner next door at the Gateway Hotel, and their service was amazing—they truly went the extra mile even though we weren't staying there. Overall, the stay was just okay, but small details make a big difference. Next time, we will try somewhere else."
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Fiji - Sonaisali Island
6/10 Okay
"We had a constant stream of problems during our stay with the Double Tree. The room was not as nice as we expected the curtains had holes from moths and some of the lights were burned out in the main room so it felt like a dark cave. We found a dead cockroach in the main room on the first night that was not cleaned up for 2 days. A second roach showed up in the bathroom the very next day too.
The shower was fantastic and lived up to the pictures. Shower towels were the most frequent issue. They kept getting taken by the cleaning staff and not replaced. We OFTEN requested fresh towels from the front desk. We had to air dry ourselves after showers once because we got back from excursions, needed to shower, and had no towels...
The front desk staff was frequently rude to us and often didn't return our “Bula's”. We often felt unwelcome and heard similar feelings from some of the other guests.
Most of the service staff was friendly and got to know us fast because we ordered drinks often an gave them big tips. One waiter always remembered our names and would wave at us from across the pool! The breakfast was pretty good but the dinners were often not worth the money. However, the grill is TOTALLY worth the price!!! My wife and I ate there a couple of times because it was so fantastic!
It always felt like they were trying to bleed all the money out of you that they could. Everything had an additional charge attached, from the WiFi to the pools Towels... We wont be back..."
"10/10 from start to finish. Every single staff member went above and beyond to help and make us feel welcomed at every turn. Everything from the rooms to the grounds were extremely clean, and the restaurants were excellent! Would not hesitate for a second to book here again!"
"Wow, what a beautiful spot for our first night in Fiji. From the moment the shuttle bus arrived at the airport we felt right at home! The staff are beautiful and the resort is so well maintained with the most gorgeous gardens. The restaurant has such a great menu with beautiful staff.
We loved the pool and the waterslide was a bonus. We only needed to stay one night but we definitely could have stayed plenty more!"
"The staff at nalagi deserve more than five stars, this not my first stay.I have stayed here b4 and it’s like home. From the reception to the kitchen service is excellent.❤️"
