This family run resort has a very helpful patriarch who is the go-to person for any issue that requires a decision. Something every traveler should know about this island is that it probably isn't what you're thinking of when you think of Maldives. The beach takes up a paltry ten percent of the island. Forty percent is taken up by the jetty and the other side of the island is where the garbage dump is. You can't go near the water's edge where the prison is either.
Another thing that travelers need to know especially budget travelers, is that the resort that you are staying with "owns" your right of passage back to Male, or wherever. For example, you cannot use another speedboat to go back to Male, without the "permission" of your hotel. The price of a speed boat for the twenty - thirty minute jaunt to Male can cost up to one hundred and fifty USD, compared to the ferry that is 3 USD. The ferry is mysteriously full from time to time. The hotel will gladly pick you up though. Another problem is that if you are ready to go, and the hotel is taking a group out snorkeling, then you must wait.
This particular hotel is ok. Sometimes the breakfast buffet serves stale cereal, or rotten hard boiled eggs, but generally it's a pretty good breakfast.
Very good service. I appreciate that, thehotel had sent an envoy to receive me at the Ibhahim International Airport and had helped me to find hotel at Male and also guided me to the ferry survice to Marfuse ie the palce where the Summer Guest House is located

Summer Villa Guest House - Building Works - Noisy!
Stayed here for 3 nights and got absolutely NO sleep. Adjoining building is being knocked down and there is a common wall. Noise starts at 7am each day and goes until 9PM. I complained and they didn't care. Would never stay here again. Also no window in the bedrooms which all open to an inside sitting area so again noisy from other guests . Beds are as hard as a rock so might as well sleep on the floor. Have stayed at much nicer places on Maafishi so would recommend staying somewhere else.
