Always sty here when visiting family but it has really deteriorated. Arrived and signed into an uncleaned room. Front desk was helpful and got another room. There for 3 days and no houskeeping seen ever. No clean towels. Many stained. Drains very slow in bathroom. Ice maker not working. Told to go to 3rd floor for ice (on 7th) Pool hasnt opened in years. It’s a shame. The only good part was the staff. Very nice

Unfortunately we were charged the room rate of a "Grand" hotel, but all the normal amenities were missing and it is obvious that the hotel is "tired" and needs a renovation badly. First time that I ever saw extension cords used in a hotel, I'm pretty sure that is a fire hazard. None of the normal amenities, such as outlets to charge phones etc were present, and some of the regular outlets were not working. The textiles in the room (bedding and towels) were paper thin. Nobody ever checked in with us to ask us if we needed anything. WiFi speed was almost non-existent which made staying in touch with work extremely difficult. Sad to say, but this was an extreme disappointment and we stayed at "cheaper" hotels with a much better and cleaner experience.

Property is well taken cared of. Much better than those closest to those roach motel, drug infested, poorly ran places closest to the Worlds Largest Christian College “ Liberty University” I was absolutely amazed at the difference. The Grand Hotel is a whole different environment. This place downtown, quiet, clean, and has a sense of pride about the rooms, the halls, the entire place inside and out. I finally rested. Owner and General Manager very warm and welcoming! Front Desk staff actually smile and communicate with a sense of knowledge.

Property was extremely old and outdated. James and Elvis were great the first day but other staff wasn’t helpful, would take down notes and then ignore them. Bathroom shower drain wouldn’t drain the first night and backed with nasty water. Elvis brought some draino but it only helped minimally. Asked for room service to clean, they said they would, and then never showed up to clean the other 2 nights we were there. Phone wouldn’t work. If this place is going to jack their prices up to triple the normal cost for Liberty graduation weekend they should provide higher quality service. $900 for 3 nights was way too much for this place. Will not ever return.

I will never stay at this property again. After unpacking, found at 9:00pm there was no hot water in the bathroom. Had to repack and was moved to another room two floors up. That room had a faulty air conditioner and would not cool the room sufficiently. There is no on-site dining, so we went out to get food -brought it back - attempted to warm it later and found that the Microwave did not work. Attempted to call the front desk, and the telephone in the room did not work -only static! Never, ever will I stay at this Hotel again.

Breakfast was not served but the hotels website says breakfast included. Beds were twin beds but website says queen beds. Iron didn't work and ice machine didn’t have ice, no water. Bathroom was terrible, toilet seats so low and unsafe for people with bad knee. It was an awful experience at this hotel and will never go back again.

Lynchburg Grand Hotel service was great! I was welcomed at the front counter, was given water, and the hotel WiFi (even though it was in the room). We had a service request and someone can within 5 minutes. The hotel is older and undergoing some renovations; however, it’s still clean and in perfect location. I would definitely stay again!

It was convenient and walkable to restaurants (theirs was closed during our Friday through Sunday stay) and fairly priced. Some small disappointment for lack of coffee station supplies, which I'm sure would've been rectified if we reported it to the front desk. We had brought our own, being coffee snobs. The bed was sparkling clean and very comfortable. The Grand has a beautiful lobby. She's a stately but elderly Southern lady.

Very outdated and has an awful smell. The worse beds I’ve ever slept in. Elevators were scary. The parking lot that you have to park in is very sketchy with a lot of sketchy people just hanging out. The housekeeper Miss Pat was such a pleasure, she made the stay pleasant

Perfect location to attend a performance at the Academy Theater. Bed was clean and comfortable. My only critical remark is the lack of any amenities. No coffee in the lobby, no access to food and beverages.

My room smelled like smoke and fragrance cover up. Sheets and bed linens were new and clean. The carpet and curtains very outdated anf tub dripped all night. It definitely didnt feel grand with the condition of the whole facility. Desk clerks were both attentive and welcoming. Interior Renovations would improve the property to bring it back the Grand ot once was.

Only complaint is that you need to update your rooms to be a bit more tech-friendly. You have zero USB ports in your room, while most hotels have at least one in the alarm clock and many have bedside lamps with them.

Cleaning staff does bare minimum. Walls and doors have stuff splattered on them. Both bed comforters where dirty had to request new, couldn't tell if the blood was fresh or stained. It’s took them a long time to get us replacements. Some nasty looking man came in to look as if we were lying. No chair for the desk. TVs so old they don’t connect to internet to stream. Outlets so old could not use them to charge our devices. Shower was too questionable so we did not shower. Ac unit so dirty we were disgusted and scared to turn it on. Dead bugs in the dresser drawers. Price was low so we got what we paid for. If you’re looking for clean and comfortable don’t stay. If you’re okay with no shower and have Lysol, wipes, and your own pillow cases stay.

The TV in my room did not have service, no matter what channel it was on it showed as loading then the show would come on for about 5 seconds then go back to loading. For the 2 nights we were there it did not work. And personally the mattress was not nearly firm enough, it cause me some low back pain. Also when I checked into the hotel I asked to extend my stay 1 more night and the attendant at the front dest said that yes I could to that and told me the price and since we have AARP he told me the discounted price and verbally confirmed with me that we would be there another night, but when I tried to get in my room the second night my room card did not work and when I went to the front desk he said that we would have to rebook it with the hotel because I used a third party to make the original reservation but when I looked online it showed that the entire hotel was booked and because of that the attendant had a difficult time booking me back in my room (that still had all of my personal belongings in it) and he was not able to give me the discounted price even after calling his manager. After a while was finally able to give me a new room card and take my payment. I was very disappointed with this hotels booking process especially because it made me and the attendant have to go through this situation.
