CocoLaPalm Seaside Resort

10/10 Excellent

"I would recommend CocoLaPalm Seaside Resort to everyone. They have a fantastic staff, clean environment, great bar tenders, good food, good amenities. Overall a great experience. The only complaint I had was being on the ground level floor when it came time for them to dp the bug spray fogging. The sound is very loud and its around 5:15-5:30 am. My family and I woke up because of the loud sound and the smell of theinsecticide. It was pretty intense for about 7-10 minutes. They need to figure out a way to ensure the smell doesn't enter the rooms. I had another family member who was staying at the resort but because they were on the second floor, they didn't hear or smell the fogging. I guess the main takeaway is to stay in a room thats not located on the ground floor or find out what day(s) they plan to defogg the complex. Aside from the defogging, I give Coco a B+/A- grade. Its a clean, family-friendly place with excellent staff."

Blue Paloma Bed & Breakfast

"I cannot say enough about Blue Paloma. Andrea, the owner, and the staff were so welcoming to us. The breakfast was great. We stayed five days and went to Negril, Montego Bay, and the Great River raft trip. I had previously stayed in an all-inclusive resort in Ocho Rios, but did not get a real flavor of the locals. I can fully appreciate how welcoming the Jamaican people were while staying at Blue Paloma. Andrea's suggestions were spot on, and the drivers were great in how they treated us. If you take the Great River raft trip, ask for Harri. He is right out of Central Casting for Reggae. Remember, credit cards are not available for the raft trip. You can buy fruit, drinks, food, and massages on the river. I had oxtail, beans, rice, and jerk chicken patties- traditional food. It was so good—also, the fried whole fish—excellent. As a whole, the trip was unreal, and Blue Paloma, Andrea, and staff were essential in making it a great trip"

"I was fortunate to get a room facing the pool. I liked the idea of getting wet during the night when all was quiet. Best stay at a hotel so far. The staff members were top notch, helpful, professional and ready to assist day and night. My stay included breakfast. Continental style with local Jamaican optional. Met the staff each morning with a smile. Ate dinner once. It was a miss. Better hitting the strip for local food hit the spot for me. Thank you Jannet for serving those great breakfast meals. The hotel is in a great location that is not far from shopping and excursions. Parking was great and secure 24/7. Ten out of ten."
