Hotel was extremely clean, the staff was so nice and helpful, they have bike for free that let you discover the city at your own pace. The rooms are spacious and the decoration is beautiful.

Sanctuary stay
Really enjoyed my stay at the Sanctuary hotel. Centrally located and easy walking distance to most of the quarter restaurants and downtown sites. The Viewpt is a little more of a walk. Room was smallish but liked the balcony which was nice for hanging out. Pool area was clean and enjoyable. Breakfast and staff response was outstanding. They fumigate your room in the evenings from what i can tell (ultimately your choice but you need to tell them if you dont want it)....never had a mosquito prob whatsoever but i could see how you could if you left your balcony doors open for an extra length of time. Price paid for having such beautiful grounds and pond area. Would most definitely stay here again!!

Very nice Garden, the whole Hotel is created like a small Village, the Staff is very friendly and helpfully..close to the Night Bazar and the World Heritage Side, many Restaurants around, the Restaurant in the Hotel itself is vety good with reasonable Prices

Well worth treating yourself. Great experience.
We originally only planned to stay for 3 nights but extended an additional 3 nights as were so relaxed and enjoyed our stay. The staff, although English not always up to scratch, can't do enough to help and followed up quickly when we had queries. We booked a tour and had a private car and driver from the hotel who looked after us at beautiful waterfalls, bear sanctuary and butterfly farm. We spent several sessions by the pool which is clean and luxurious sun loungers with service from the bar at the ring of a bell... literally! Breakfast, which was included, was a la carte and very tasty. We had a Laotian tasting platter and dinner one evening too, which were high quality but much more expensive than the great food you can get just round the corner in the main area of restaurants and bars. The hotel is a short walk from several temples including the national museum and royal palace. Make sure you walk to the top of Phousi Hill at sunset; breathtaking views. We would definitely stay again and have, in fact, booked at their sister hotel in Pak Beng as part of the 2 day boat tour to the Thai border the hotel helped us book.

Fabulous
The hotel was beautiful. The service was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating when booking tours and buses and taxis. The breakfast was amazing. The restaurant staff were wonderful. The grounds of the hotel are classy and beautiful beautiful. The rooms themselves are very clean, large and comfortable. The hotel itself is about four blocks from the night market. Literally a five minute walk to everything. Right around the corner from Utopia. I would recommend this hotel. I would stay here again no questions asked.

Highly recommended base to explore Luang Prabang
Good location slightly out of the busy centre of Luang Prabang. Rooms at the back live up to the name "Sanctuary" surrounding the lotus pond. Recommend an upstairs room for less mosquitos. Rooms very spacious, comfortable, hot water with good water pressure, and firm mattresses with good quality linen. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Hotel & Grounds
Beautiful hotel/grounds. We loved the atmosphere. Very well maintained. Super peaceful/quiet. Great location. Great Breakfast - lots to eat! Made-to-order eggs. Only complaint is that the walls are thin - we heard the people next door having a "good time". The drapes are black-out, so we couldn't sleep in, but most people want to wake early, so not a problem. Wifi was good. Shower was great - quality pressure/temp. The room was clean, they had everything we needed.

Very friendly hotel with great service
Check in is prompt. We opted for the ground floor room due to both of us in the 80s but there were lots mosquitos as soon as we enter the room. The reception very efficiently changed our room to the next level which was very good. They even provided us with the spray. Room is spacious with view of the pond. Location is very convenient. Highly recommended.

Nice rooms, lovely central courtyard (all rooms look out over the courtyard and the pond). The staff are really helpful, and there is a good selection of food in the restaurant.

We were picked up at the airport on time and warmly greeted at the hotel and even though we had a late night check in we were given a nice dinner. We requested two beds and had two single beds fairly comfortable. Wonderful staff!

Comfortable stay
Extremely comfortable stay for Christmas. Rooms were to a high standard and bed was very comfortable. Staff did more than enough to accommodate requests and were proactive in turning down the rooms, offering mosquito spray and even providing a little Xmas gift which was sweet and unexpected. Breakfast and restaurant are to a good quality and spa treatments are worth it. Overall really good stay.

An aptly named hotel in beautiful Luang Prabang.
Sanctuary is the perfect name for this hotel. It is close to the hustle and bustle of the night market but is quiet and resort like inside. Though the room was on the small side - as was the relative price for what you get - it was very comfy. Unfortunately, I came down with a bad cold and spent way too much time there. The staff was so accommodating and understanding, it actually felt quite homey. The outdoor breakfast buffet was nice with outstanding coffee. Though the selections are pretty limited, the restaurant has good food. All in all it really was a sanctuary.

Location is great, comfortable and accommodating
The location of the hotel is right in the heart of the city. Close walk to all the restaurants, bars, rivers and the night market. You can walk to around the city easily from the hotel. The rooms were clean and serviced regularly. Our requests were done punctually by the friendly staff. We were also allowed a late check out. The Buffet breakfast was nice and set in a relaxing environment.

A well named hotel
I have stayed at the Sanctuary before as I live in Laos and occasionally go to LP to work. This hotel really is a sanctuary from the madness and maelstrom of the tourist crowd. its elegant spacious and luxurious in its wonderful gardens and the generosity of the staff. Its nightly under the stars showings of Chang (Thai for elephant) shows Laos as it was .. in comparison to the mad commercial jangle of the now. Th rooms are spacious and comfortable. It would be nice if they had a pool but well.. its great anyway. The breakfast on the deck overhanging the pondis a great way to strat the day.. but a bottle of wine in town and enjoy the sunset from the verandah,.

A Sanctuary, indeed
A lovely sanctuary by the main road. Room is pleasantly clean and simple. The bed is sadly, disappointing. The mattress is too uncomfortable. Bathroom is clean and the water pressure and temperature is satisfying. Breakfast was simple, yet enough to keep you energise for the morning. Staff is excellent, friendly and always smiling! They even suggested an itinerary for my short stay there. This is the place to be if you want to be in Luang Prabang!

Great location near all the attractions in town
Sanctuary was perfect and true to its name. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay in Luang Prabang. Front Desk ladies especially "Noy" was so helpful cheery and bubbly. She even booked and rearranged our itinerary and gave her personal experiences and insight!

A great place to stay
We really loved the Sanctuary Hotel in Luang Prabang. It was truly a sanctuary. A wonderful place to go to each night. Our room was delightful, very spacious and tastefully appointed. The hotel was very handy to all the sites and great restaurants of Luang Prabang. Breakfast at the hotel and also dinner at night in the hotel restaurant was top quality. We highly recommend this hotel.

Paradise in Luang Prabang!
stayed at this hotel 1 night for the last night of our trip as we were looking for something more upscale. Beautiful property, I did not want to leave - could have hung out in the hotel all day. Rooms were very clean and the bathroom had a soaking tub. Amazing water pressure in the shower which was perfect after a long day out exploring. The continental breakfast was very good with a lot of options (noodles, jams, yogurts) - I was impressed by the selection and the restaurant itself is right by the lilly pond and makes for a very relaxing meal. The location was fine, a little bit of a walk to the night market/ main streets but even in the hottest month (stayed in April) it was manageable. The spa on site looks nice but we did not use it since the prices are much higher in the hotel compared to getting massage/spa treatments elsewhere - however if you do choose to use the spa it is a much nicer atmosphere than most massage places. Overall it was a great stay. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

A sanctuary in Luang Prabang!
The Sanctuary is a wonderful hotel for your stay in Luang Prabang. The staff could not have been more helpful nor more gracious. The breakfast included with our room was stellar and scrumptious with a variety of Laotian as well as western treats. The daily screening of the 1927 movie on Laos, Chang, is inspired. We loved our stay!

Lovely property that could use a little work.
The property is beautiful and the rooms are pretty nice. There is an overall lovely atmosphere. The beds are too hard though and pillows aren't great. We had some problems with some not great smells and needed to change rooms. The breakfast was lovely and the people working there were very nice.

My Thai partner and I enjoyed our trip and this was in part thanks to the charming Sanctuary Hotel, which is not a grand place but very clean and quiet with a super central garden and a pleasant breakfast room, with a good choice. Excellent fresh orange juice and strong coffee. Very pleasant staff.Room functional. We would happily stay there again and thought the price fair. Perfect for a short visit, BB and Song

Difficult to fault
A beautiful hotel, very quiet and probably has the best food from many hotels that we stayed at. Internet was sometimes not working, but we found this in all hotels. Room quite small but had everything in it and the beds were really comfortable. Lacks a pool but I would choose to stay here again and pay to use a pool for a day in a different hotel . That way, you get a good nights sleep, good food and excellent service from everyone at the hotel. Loved it. Very peaceful. A very short walk to Dara indoor market and about a 10 minute walk along the main road to the night market and tourist street.

Excellent hotel, professionally managed
-friendly and pleasant staff. Everyone is very positive and lovely to speak with, extremely helpful and genuine. -small touches show the management here are professional hoteliers. They have trained the local staff professionally and offer them good pay and vacation packages for their hard work, you can see these guys enjoy working here and are motivated. Complimentary water is relentlessly restocked even if you have a backlog. Fridge is spacious. Housekeeping arranges your clothes on the low shelves and folds, puts your clothes up to dry etc. Flowers sometimes in the outside deck. Front staff smile and remember your name right away. Small touches make a difference -air con is beastly -wifi is as good as you'll get for Laos -private parking for motorbike if you rent one and security gate keeps it safe -beautiful garden and pond in the middle. Birds and quiet offer the sound of motorbikes on main road. Slept like a log most nights -exactly half way between the night market and main road and the bars /nightlife. -no bugs. New building, clean everything Great place, looking forward to returning

Vi hade 5 fantastiska dagar på hotellet. Ligger centralt. Har bra mat. Bra service. Hotellet ger verkligen en känsla av att man är i Laos.

Für ein 3 Sterne Hotel absolut hervorragend. Von der Zahnbürste bis zum Regenschirm gibt es alles auf dem Zimmer. Tolle Lage alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Wunderschöne Anlage mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Frühstück für Asien auch absolut OK. Fazit jederzeit wieder.

お部屋はとても綺麗に清掃しているが、交換したタオルに茶色いシミがついていたり、洗濯はしているのはわかるが使いたくなかった。 スイートに泊まって、あのタオルはないです。 今回は、工事の音も気になりました。オフシーズンだから仕方なかったのかな。 部屋の広さ以外、スイート感はなく、ガーデンビューといっても隣の家が丸見えなだけ、次回はスタンダードで十分だと思った。 ホテルの立地、お庭の雰囲気はとても良かったです。

Overall, there was too much difference between good and bad staff. If you train all staff, it will be a great hotel. As we are working on pool and hotel ridge roof now, there is noise from 7 am and is until September. Because of that return trip, there is a free airport transfer offer. Thank you very much!
