"The lodge is beautiful in very peaceful area, it was very clean with everything we needed. We used it mainly for a base as we were traveling so only really slept there. The lodge is situated between 2 other properties and would benefit ( I’m my opinion) with blinds on all lower windows. The bed is very comfortable but a bit on the narrow side. "Lovely small and homely hotel .Had a comfortable bed and enjoyed waking up to the view out to sea.The toilet and shower could do with being upgraded but was still clean and acceptable.The staff were excellent and very friendly and the evening meal and breakfast we had was very tasty and well prepared.I would especially recommend the Cullen skink. We enjoyed a walk along the beach on a lovely evening which we needed after our very delicious and filling evening meal."

"Lovely location overlooking the coast, inside was charming although a little dated but with a bit of investment could be stunning. Booked a room with sea view and wasn’t disappointed, room furniture old but functional, bed was clean and comfortable. Main road directly outside but very little to no noise. The bathroom looked as though it had been modernised but was let down by a hole in the wall panelling and one side of the towel rail hanging off the wall. Breakfast offerings pretty standard, cooked items of bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, hash browns, mushrooms etc, cereals, yoghurt, juices and hot drinks. For a Saturday night / Sunday morning the hotel appeared quiet with only eight other people in the breakfast area. As we were there for only one night it was just a place to sleep really so can’t be overly critical. Lastly, the staff we encountered were all courteous, pleasant, and polite."

"The check-in process would have went smoother if I had checked my email 😅. As I booked through Expedia, I was expecting to have the instructions on my expedia inbox. So, I had to phone the host for the instructions, which she happily provided in a text. Interesting way of checking in, with a code and a lock box. Although it's nice to be greeted, this way saved a lot of time in waiting. The hotel was clean, the smell when entering the room was clean, fresh. Nice toiletries, plenty tea, coffee etc. Kettle and a small iron and ironing board in the room. Comfy bed, at least I slept well. The only downside, for which I've taken a star is that the room next door was very noisy on the day of the arrival, some ladies/ girls, laughing out loud and could hear them as they were in my room. Every time they used the toilet, I could hear the door, water flushing etc...very loudly. After a full day of travelling, I would have appreciated some peace and quiet. I haven't made the host aware about this, there is a note at the entrance to keep it down and respect the other guests, but I suppose, not everyone is considerate and educated. The hotel is in a quiet area, couldn't hear the outside noise, just from the next door. I stayed in rm 4. At the time they were not serving meals, but there are plenty places where you can eat around, one of them is 5 minutes walk and they have a shop there as well. (On the expensive side). But there are supermarkets and everything if you need anything."
