This is the perfect spot to go to if you’re in need of a place that’s safe to lay your head down in for a day or two, especially if you plan to venture out to Little Tokyo, which is literally just across the street from the hotel. That being said, the room my mom and I were in was dusty and we couldn’t use the ceiling fan as it was also dusty and would make it worse, so we didn’t really sleep. Other than that, it was an overall nice stay and we’d book again if we’re ever in the area!

No parking at all. You have to pay anywhere from 40 to 120 for a 2 day stay. The price for the inconvenience was insane. I couldve saved 300 by booking somewhere farther and driving to the show i had tickets for between the room and parking costs. There were crackheads walking up and down the street yelling all night. No air or heater except a small personal heater they expected to heat the whole room. Walls were extremely dirty. And no tv is in the room you have to go to the kitchen to watch anything and that gets locked after a certain time. It seemed whoever owns the hotel lives there too.

The nightly rate was much lower than the typical hotel. It is quite different from a traditional hotel room. There is no sink, toilet or place to take a shower inside your own room. You would have to walk down the hall to use the shared bathroom and restroom. I like their 2 updated bathrooms, but everything else is dated.

This property is sadly in need of some attention. It’s expensive, old, shabby and smelt in the corridors and shared kitchen. It’s more like a hostel with shared sad bathroom and shower. Bed squeaked, ceiling fan didn’t work and a tiny, tiny room. Sad indeed

Great little hotel! Little Tokyo is one of my favorite areas in LA, and I was so happy to stay right there on 1st St. No frills, shared bathroom, but awesome location and clean building

The hotel is what it offers. The rooms are simple, without luxuries, but they have what is necessary for a short stay. It was very hot, but the rooms had fans. The common bathrooms are always clean. It has a kitchen with refrigerators to store food, a stove and dishes for cooking. All very practical for a short stay. It is definitely not for people who expect luxury, but for guests who appreciate an unpretentious place in a very good area, right in front of Little Tokyo. The staff was very friendly, although it did not interfere much with the stay. To enter there are stairs, there is no elevator. Which is important to know if you travel like us, to work at the LA Art Book Fair, with many suitcases full of books. But the young man at the reception helped us carry them. And the MOCA, where the fair was held, is next door, which is very practical.

Cute little hotel to meet all your basic needs!
The check in was a breeze and the man who greeted me was so nice! When I got to my room, the house keeper was just finishing up and she was also very nice. The bathrooms and showers were kept fairly clean. My only downsides were that the walls were very thin so I could hear people talking in the hallways and snoring at night and the pillows were a bit flat. Other than that it was perfect for my purpose which was to be close to Union Station which is a stop for the FlyAway bus to/from LAX and in a safe/quiet neighborhood. I also LOVE Japanese everything, so I was able to take advantage of many of the yummy restaurants on the same block, the bakeries across the street, and of course walk around the Little Tokyo Plaza. If you just need a place to sleep and leave your things because you are out and about throughout the day, this is the perfect place especially for the price!

My first time sharing bathroom in a hotel but the experience wasn't bad as I thought. But the best is the customer service; staff very friendly and ready to solve any question. Location is great, just 2 blocks from the metro station and the area is really good.

When I booked the property online, it didnt say that its was a filthy, hot, hostel with no air conditioning or tvs in the rooms. The bathroom is shared and absolutely disgusting. I was there for 10 minutes and left and when i told hotels.com my situation neither them or the hotel offered me any type of refund or credit so i didnt stay, lost 150$ and didnt see my daughter because i would never let her stay in that environment.

A cozy little hotel near the heart of little Tokyo. The service, staff, facilities, and commute were all awesome. It was definitely a little different than your traditional hotel experience but well worth it.

When I booked this room It showed a beautifully decorated room With al the amenities! This room was far from it! It had no Air Conditioning, no private bathroom and very run down! This is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at for the price I paid!
And there was no TV and the bathroom was a shared bathroom and shower!
