"We book a room for 3 nights at the "6 Lovely Studios Hotel," in Ghent, Belgium, and arrived late in the day to find that the room was not as shown in the photos nor matched the printed descriptions -- NO windows, no city view, no heat, no clean sheets, and the upstairs' shared-kitchen and laundry was dirty, the fridge was packed full of rotting foods and nothing to cook with. After several hours of messaging both with the hotel owner, (who never appear in person, nor sent anyone to assist us)...

"Dirty bed sheets smelt of unwashed dirty hair. Reported it same night we were there but they said they will come next day to change it. Washed it in the washing machine instead. Used a whole pack of dettol wipes for the floor but it was still black. Son got bitten all over. Check under the mattress cover of the bed if you do intend to book. You will be grossed out and shocked. Wasting my energy to post this since I stayed only 2 nights but spare yourself this grotesque place"

"Our stay at the Novotel Hotel in Ghent, the Netherlands, 15-17 Oct 2025 was excellent. With the exception of a couple of people, overall, the hotel's staff was friendly and hospitable. The photos matched the room -- clean and roomy. The mirror in the bathroom was a foot higher above my head (5 foot 2 inches) and the lighting was not bright enough. A light in the entrance way was broken, and not fixed during our 2 day stay, even though a cleaning staff member knew and promised to have it fixed. When requested our daily supply of coffee packages, both the front desk (condescending) and the cleaning staff were not readily responsive. BTB Fresno, CA, USA"
