"The hotel is located in Chamonix yet in a tranquil and peaceful setting that we really enjoyed. Our room was very spacious and had a wonderful large balcony where we enjoyed our evening wine. The property has 2 fantastic restaurants and lobby bar. There was also ample parking available if arriving by car. "The apartment was well stocked with everything you need to stay the night and cook a quick meal. The staff were very helpful and had recommendations for a local grocery store nearby with a good selection of local cheeses and charcuteries. The only downside is that is there is no air-conditioning, but they do provide a fan and the rooms face onto a private courtyard so you can leave windows open to cool off the room in the evening."

This might be ok for a normal hotel but when the hotel is in the middle of a mountain, only accessible by a 2.5 hour hike (or a tiny train that is on strike - it’s France after all) then it is simply unacceptable to let your guests arrive at the door tired, hungry & thirsty to see a sign that says ‘sorry we’re closed, we tried to contact you’.
