"The staff members were all very helpful, but our room was very tiny and very warm since there was no air conditioning and only a very noisy fan that attempted to keep us a bit cool. The room was historical and unique, which we liked, but it had a few quirks. Having to insert (and keep inserted) a key card for the electricity to stay on was different, but workable once we understood how it worked. The staff were excellent about calling a taxi for us to get to the airport at 4 a.m., but there really is no shuttle. The taxi cost 30 euros at that time, which was a huge amount for the distance traveled. The restaurant served delicious food and wine for dinner and our server was knowledgeable and so helpful explaining the traditional Slovenian dishes and choosing a local wine to our liking."

"Upon arrival already, the host was exceptional. The host (husband & wife) running the place are the best so far I've ever encounter. We arrived late at night (after 10 pm and couldn't find a parking space. They were still on their premises and the husband came running to indicate where I could park (create a parking space) Breakfast only 12.00 euros and it is excellent. Host herself prepares the eggs and the buffet has a large variety. Never seen a buffet at that price. Most fruits are grown at home, guess marmalades are home made as for the sweets. I would definitely recommend this place without any doubt. Btw, host dominates English, Spanish and probably other language besides her own Slovanian"

"There was a hared shower with other rooms that didn’t have a lock on the door. Laundry should not be listed as an amenity. It should be listed as off site. We expected to be able to use in unit laundry when we booked, that was something we needed. The AC was nice to have. The room was not as sound proof as we thought. We shared a wall with the kitchen and it was very noisy around 5:00-8:00am Overall it was a good stay. The pictures were a bit deceiving when we realized the bathroom was detached from the room. No issues overall."

"Perfect location, spotless rooms, and incredibly friendly staff! Hotel Azul exceeded all my expectations. The property was peaceful and quiet, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic with plenty of great options. Excellent value for money—I would stay here again in a heartbeat!"
