"The Claremont is an excellent place to stay! Rooms are well fitted comfortable and clean . Staff are all helpful and friendly! Breakfast was good, choice and quality , would certainly re book and stay at the Claremont again!"

"They only replaced a broken fridge after 2 days, they tried to adjust the settings but they missed a basic fault that the motor in the fridge was not working.. Breakfast was not up to the usual high standard. Fried eggs solid and left on hotplate to long, other hot items very dry. Waitress’s more interested in talking to each other than taking action when we pointed out issues with the breakfast issues."

"Our room did not get the bed made, the towels refreshed. And the soap dispenser above the bath was empty, it didn’t even have a refill bag. The hotel is very dated and tatty. The reception is unwelcoming , too few seats, and few staff When I phoned reception , I should have been told the cleaners to make beds etc. only come in on the third day We stayed 2 nights.now renamed THE WORST WESTERN."

"The room was comfortable and clean. The room was consistent with what I expected for the price. Staff was top notch. The restaurant and bar were convenient with good food. We were happy with our stay."

"The room was clean, however the sink was badly cracked and needed replacing. The furnishings in the room were fit for purpose, albeit very dated. I also found the room to be quite noisy - being able to hear showers running, toilets flushing etc from nearby rooms, early morning and during the night. I had a room at the back of the hotel and only had a view of other buildings. However, the rooms at the front including the sitting area, bar and restaurant had great views over the bay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I did not have breakfast or eat in the restaurant, but the food in the bar was very good, although I thought it was expensive - but maybe not for the Isle of Man. The location was a long walk from the ferry terminal area, but well served by buses and the horse tram. It was also very close to the electric railway station."
