Great location near the beach within walking distance. Room was nicely furnished. Bathroom cleanliness can be improved further but for the price I paid, no complains :)

Good location. Modern looking. Room is small for the cost. My room had a lot of traffic noise. No refrigerator. If you want one you have to pay extra for it! Not worth the cost.

No fridge, no clean daily sheets,no hot water,no international tv,no wifi .many years ago a nice place. Now run down , and the staff dont really care. No bar service, no food room service. Should be a backpackers hotel.

I am sorry to write this review..Having stayed many happy times at Serela, since it first opened, this was our most disappointing. The room appeared not to have been cleaned, after last guest? Hair on floor, dirty bathroom and generally not the level of cleanliness which had received in the past. This continued throughout our stay. The toilet was leaking water so it was always damp & smelling unpleasant. Our room was directly above the reception area & at 6.30am loud Indonesian music would begin to play and the pools water fountain would start?? Definitely no sleeping in!! This also continued until early evening. We asked to move room straight away, but as it was full, we had to endure this room for a few days. Once moved to a higher room, and not on the Reception side, the noise was less volume but continued, even after we questioned why so early?, throughout our stay. More disappointing changes was only one English tv channel?, breakfast is even more scarce & mostly Indonesian cuisine, towels are thin yellow and with holes! If you can receive a low rate for the room, Serela is in a good location, the staff are pleasant, it’s safe and has all the basics you need...if you plan to be out all day it will suffice, But at a higher rate...you can definitely find an alternative with more appeal.

Good for the price, lovely staff
Lovely staff but for a hotel only a few years old they really need to lift their game. Bed is super comfy but discolored and worn out linen and towels with holes in isn’t a good look. It all needs bleaching and replacing. No pool towels or cushions on the hard lounges by the pool. It’s Impossible to book direct as they never respond to emails. Tried to order room service dinner, literally nothing was available, tried to get a can of coke from the bar, none of that either. Price is good, but you get what you pay for which is a lack of facilities and service, Aside from the negatives, it’s a nice place with nice staff

Thought with it being a new small hotel everything would be great . First night given room facing street couldn't sleep from noisey bar across road .moved to new room next day overlooking pool people still swimming after 10pm at night very loud . Have to request a fridge for room and will be provided if one becomes available. Stayed 10 nights and had same bed linen for the entire stay . Towels were old and grey some even had holes and no hand towels were provided. Breakfast was very limited with selection so we chose to eat elsewhere. Overall just disappointed

Not happy
Booked online on expedia. Ugraded to a deluxe room with a fridge but upon checking in realised there was no fridge in the room. Then foumd the door leading to the balcony was broken from someone previously breaking into the room!! A guy came up with a screwdriver and tried bending the latch back to make it lock again but it was obviously so damaged it needed to be replaced. I asked for another room, this one also had no fridge. The staff were mostly dismissive, unhelpful and made no efforts to reimburse me for the extra money id spent on my room upgrade which i never ended up getting!!! Very ubhappy and will absolutely never stay here again.

Some problems
We moved rooms due to leaking water from the room above and paid extra for a pool view. Which was bigger but smelled like wet concrete.the rooms are not well designed.and they have three fridges for the whole hotel.!

Third time back to Serela
Fantastic stay. It's my third time staying at Serela. My only complaint was that the pool waterfall is turned on too early in the morning which woke me up. Travelled solo. Serela is in a good location for solo travellers. Close to the beach, good restaurants, good for walking to places.

Perfect
We had to extend our stay two evenings in a row! The staff were fantastic regarding this. This hotel is a nice small hotel close to all facilities for shopping and nightlife. The breakfast consisted of a good variety of western and Indonesian. Mini mart right next door and Ted's bar across the road serve the coldest Bintang! Highly recommended!

Very Disappointed
I was very disappointed with this hotel and would never stay there again. It is a hotel for Muslims, not Westerners. There was no fridge in the room and the rooms were very small. At 4pm one afternoon our room hadn't been cleaned so we had to ask for it to be done. We had been out all day so it wasn't that we were in the room and they were unable to clean it. On one occasion friends came to visit and were told I was out when I was in my room, they didn't even bother to ring through to see if I was there.

Cheap but cheerful.
The rooms are small but very clean. The breakfasts are basic but the staff more than willing to cook you an omlette. Front desk staff very friendly to help. Breakfast spoilt by the heavy smoking of other guests. Unfortunately there is nowhere to escape from this.Could be dangerous for any one with asthma it was that bad. Disappointing pickup at airport as hotel driver handed bags over to bogus porter. Then there was a push for money. Not what you need when you are tired when you first arrive.

The hotel was ok, found staff not to be very friendly, the hotel is lacking in warmth, the rooms was very clean but I had to ask for toilet paper, they did not leave any even if you ran out and the internet was a hit and miss.

Not Bad For The Price
We stayed there for 2 nights. Service was friendly however toilet was quite small and walls are thin for a hotel. there is only air con in the rooms so when you left to go outside, you were hit with the heat outside. At the end of the day, its not bad for the price.

No-frills, great location
This hotel is very well-located, just a short 7-minute walk from the beach. Loads of restaurants, bars and cheap shopping in the vicinity. Room is small and a little worn-in, could do with a spruce-up. In particular the bathroom was a little disappointing - tiny, dimly-lit and the water felt very strange, leaving us with an oily/unclean feeling. Plus points: very friendly staff who try their best to accommodate you. Pool is small but clean and private. Not bad for a short stay but if you're there more than 2 nights maybe look for other options.

Suited my needs
The room was small and bathroom compact but suited my solo needs well. Room was clean and tidy and housekeeping did a great job during my stay. Minor things like a fridge and coffee cups would make this hotel even better. Walking distance to everything you could possibly need. Staff attentive and friendly. Pool area shaded but the water always felt warm to me. I had a deluxe balcony room facing the road. If you want quiet then ask for a room at the back facing the pool but can sleep through anything so wasn't a worry got me

Excellent facilities. Beautiful pool, super comfortable bed and awesome air conditioning. Great area, within 5 Min walk to beach and close enough to night-life without hearing any of it. Corridors are a little noisy.

hotel is clean and tidy but a bit dark in the room. No fridge but just ask as we did. rooms a bit small but as we just shower and sleep it was OK. Close to most things and importantly at the right place for traffic flow otherwise if you catch a cab further towards Kuta you have to keep going around the block as a lot of one ways.

My stay was fantastic, nice and friendly staff. My only disappointment was my room was the only one with no balcony and the one window did not open therefore the room was a little smelly of damp due to no ventilation and air con on the whole time.

Nice Hotel but lacking services.
As we arrived around midnight we were very disappointed there was no fridge or cold drinks, no cups to use tea & coffee facilities, we found out later that morning we needed to request a fridge & cups when booking!! The bed was very comfortable but the room & bathroom were very small. The next morning we went to the bar to get a cold drink & snack but had to call the 2 employees for attention as they were too busy with their mobile phone & tv and the same thing happened each time we required service as well as half the menu & drinks list was unavailable. we spoke to many other guests who were as disappointed as we were. We would have spent more money at the hotel if the service was good! They missed a lot of opportunities from us and other guests because of slack service. We also upgraded to a balcony room then found no chairs on the balcony so repeatedly requested a couple of chairs which were never supplied. All in all we were very disappointed.

Modern small hotel!
The hotel was well located and for the price the rooms were of a good size. Accessible to all conveniences. The only issue I had was that when I tried to address a problem with a power surge effecting my phone and safe, neither the day manager or general manager were available for accountability or discussion. They simply did not want to know! The general staff however were very helpful and friendly.

Nice little gem
We stayed at the Serela for 7 nights and although the room was small it was comfortable and the shower and air conditioning were excellent. The pool was clean and well maintained with pool towels provided. We had no fridge the first night but one was provided the next morning. Each time we had a request e.g. how to work the safe, assistance was extremely prompt and the staff were extra friendly. We will certainly stay at this budget priced hotel again.

Great hotel - skip the breakfast
We enjoyed our room which overlooked the pool and courtyard. The room and bed were very comfortable. Although the bathroom was quite small, the water pressure in the shower was wonderful. The wifi (which was unsecured - no password) was pretty good most of the time, however they block Netflix. The included breakfast was terrible. We ate down the street. There are many options within easy walking distance. We would stay again.

Nice place
This place to me was a bit secluded, but theres cafes, shops nearby. Theres also a laundry shop nearby. Place was comfortable.
