The useful-looking bedside lamp with multiple ports/outlets in the base looked useful, except nothing (not even the lamp bulb) worked, even though it was plugged in. The two pot lights over the desk also looked like a thoughful touch, except I could not find a switch for them (or else they, too, don't work).
