"We spent one night in Death Valley and this was definitely the best of the options that we saw. It was really a desert oasis. The staff were very friendly and helpful, helped with a late checkout that was complementary. There were beautiful gardens, a pool, sporting options, and variety of restaurants.
There was even an interesting little museum and the USPS Death Valley post office on site.
I would definitely stay there again - but maybe in the winter months, it was 119°F when we checked in!!"
"It’s cute and quaint and very isolated. The staff was all very nice, the room was very clean, and they did allow us to check in early. Unfortunately, knowing the hotel 20 miles up the road was only $90 more with a whole oasis/pool/spa made this one seem not worth the money. The pool here was pretty dirty and drab (I know it’s hard to maintain with all the dust, but still) and there were no towels, even though the front desk said there would be. The general store was overpriced and the restaurant was too, allow food was decent and our server was so sweet! The stars were pretty spectacular at night, but there wasn’t really a place specifically go to look at them. Overall, probably wouldn’t stay again."
"This place is the strangest property I’ve ever been to. The room is in someone’s house. Nobody to answer the phone. Nobody there to greet the guests. Had to yell around the outside to find the host. There was no television, internet, nightstand on my side. There was a red, heart shaped tub. Everyone sat outside on the porch and chatted as it was out in the middle of Nowhere! Luckly we had food. Have I told you about the Peacocks?! There were 30 during mating season! All night long, they squawked. There were huge vases of dusty feathers in the room. Hard pass if I were you."
