No option for breakfast, just coffee and juice. Carpets look very old. It’s conveniently located, a few steps from the train station.

Terrible!
Booked it because it is close to the station. It was the worst stay in Switzerland by far : dust all over the room ( left with an allergy crisis; last one was years ago....), the floor cleaning was done with dirty water, which left an horrible odor in the room, reception told me the breakfast was not included and had to prove it to correct it, they claimed the key when I already given it and said I will receive an email if they cannot find it.. ( thanks for basically making me feel like I am a liar and a stealer), the check-in took a while (even though 2 people were at the reception...)

Awesome Stay at Lausanne
Overall a pleasant stay. We enjoyed having breakfast in the breakfast area and was thrilled & excited on the model train displayed on the floor covered with glass top which you can walk on it. The receptionists are very helpful and friendly.

It is nearby the train station, about 3 mins walk without suitcase). Room is clean, but the washroom is too tiny. Breakfast has various choices that makes the day more valuable.

Hotel AlaGare is in an extremely convenient location - a very short walk to the train station (great for arrival, departure and for taking a day trip to Geneva!) Our room was very quiet and we had no issue with train noise, whatsoever. Breakfast was ample and had a great variety. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Nice, clean, comfortable spot, walking distance from the train station. The gentleman at the front desk switched our room from a king to two twin beds. Breakfast was very good. It was a nice stay.

This is an older property. While very close to the train station, it was a little hard to find, initially, without signage. My room was small and largely occupied by the double bed. The bathroom was small. The site pictures suggest a more modern accommodation. Staff service was fine. The hotel breakfast was good.

Excellent location. Very quiet street. Lovely restaurants. Near a supermarket. Right next to the station (easy for travel to Montreux, Vevey and Geneva Airport. On the down side, no fridge, no air con (it was 35 degrees during our stay). Overall, it is a nice hotel for the price.

Conveniently located, charming hotel
Conveniently located right next to the train station. I was worried that the sounds of the train would be a problem but I babtely heard them. The front desk was eager to assist us in any way possible - giving is directions and suggestions for meals. The free breakfast was in an attached charming, train themed dining room - and the food was plentiful and delicious. Great coffee too (which is a must for me). We also received free metro passes as part of our stay which we took advantage of.

Good price for good location.
Very convenient location half way between lake and old city areas, and right by train and metro links for getting around (with no noise issues!). Helpful staff. Great continental breakfast. Our standard room was a little 'tired', but perfectly functional and adequate, and we had no complaints considering the price we paid. We would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Alagare a classic from days gone by.
This was a great hotel, it reminds you of a stay when hotels had style. They sent info to us twice prior to arrival to see if we needed anything. Staff was very helpful and polite. Room was clean and comfortable and had a hot pot and teas to choose from. They even supplied an iPhone if toe needed it to take out for directions or to make a call. The sitting area had two over stuffed charred and a sofa with a huge mural on the wall depicting travelers of days gone by. They provided a free hot breakfast that was sufficient. The breakfast room had elegant hardwood seats and tables and a full train set up under a glass floor that covered most of the room. Very charming and unique. They are located right behind and down a slight hill from the train station but was very quiet. It is not very large but had style.

Wonderful place clean and comfortable. Reception was very friendly. Free wifi, free to use a local cell-phone that can be used for international calls within EU, free traveling ticket for limited zones but good enough. Breakfast was rich and lots of choices. Highly recommendable.

Small hotel.
Service is fast. The neighborhood seems rather dark and unfriendly though. Lots of graffiti. You'll have to plug in the power to the air conditioner for it to work. Clean bathroom, adequate breakfast. Interesting train themed hotel. We planned to visit the vine yards in the morning, as the hotel is close to the station, it makes it appropriate to do so.
