"We had a two night stay to visit the mediaeval town and found the location of the Cerise Carcassonne Sud excellent for this purpose. The carpark is very large and secure with gates closing from 9 pm. The old town is a 5 minute walk away - very do-able even in the 35 C heat. Our rooms (in block A) were very large, disabled friendly, if a little utilitarian with sparse oldish, basic furniture (no bedside tables).
