Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious foods, excellent location, extra comfortable bed, big room. We had a great time there.
I highly recommend it.

Liked: Staff & service
Excellent friendly staff. Good breakfast although had to pay extra. Room was clean but paint work was a bit shabby in the bathroom and window had not been cleaned.
2/5
Pros - Happy and engaging staff. Bed was nice, so was the shower and the different options for coffee & hot chocolate.
Cons -
Although the staff were very friendly and accommodating on our welcome, they were too preoccupied with the pub customers and so gave no insight on cleaning nor WIFI. Having stayed in the bar/hotel for 3 nights, it wasn’t once cleaned - which may be due to COVID so we weren’t annoyed, however they never replenished their hot drink selections (did not provide normal tea until we had to ask on the last night as they ran out of hot chocolate). These were only the small issues; unfortunately the bigger issues stemmed from the amount of dust in the room and rust on the bathroom equipment i.e. toilet brush. The toilet itself was filled with yellow stains and the small sink was accompanied by an empty soap bottle. Furthermore, sleep was hard to obtain as the busy high street outside was lively; we do understand this is not the fault of the staff however the single pained windows block no sound.
I feel bad writing such a disappointing review when the staff were so nice, it is just the room had several problems which amounted to an unpleasant time.
Great stay at the Royal Oak room was clean and comfortable and friendly bar staff
Location was great no parking at the hotel but after 6 o’clock you can park on the main road
The only problem we had was the price of the stay was more than advertised on hotels.com only by £4 so no problem really
Everything was great. So friendly and welcoming.
Slept extremely well in very comfy bed. Didn’t experience any noise from the pub or street below.
Even made extra sausages for my daughter for breakfast.
Would wholeheartedly recommend.
Not impressed overall... Room was not as clean as we would have expected especially during Covid, we felt we had to wipe around ourselves to be sure.
The room was situated at the front of the hotel so was very noisy and had drinkers congregating around the street frontage.
Had breakfast on one day of the 4 that we stayed and was at best average, the restaurant was not particularly a nice setting and was looking decidedly "tired".
Staff were OK but not overly welcoming.
Bed was comfortable.
There is no parking at the pub but there is parking on the street which is free overnite from 6pm to 10am.
