"A/c unit not working in the room. Room changed, however the a/c unit is noisy - wakes you up in the night. If you don’t have it on then it’s too cold. Breakfast was ok, wouldn’t recommend the cheese, had been sitting for hours and sweating and looked unappetising. Please be aware you need to pay additional for parking. Also they will charge you for an upgrade, 1st time I’ve had to pay for an upgraded room. Rooms are only cleaned if requested. Looks like they are calling back and made this a mediocre Marriott and want you to spend on extras. "

"This place is so adorable! Super accommodating staff and parking right up front for loading with long stay parking right around the corner. Also seems like a very fun, hip area right near a college, restaurants and river walks. :)"

"The hotel itself is fine and everything you expect from a Holiday Inn. My only major negative is the price of parking. At £50 per day (that’s even with discount, should be £80) is a complete rip off and not mentioned on the site. Needs to be more transparent, just says parking is available, no mention of charges. "

"Gorgeous building, room and well maintained gardens, however for a 5* hotel the service was poor, the staff seemed less than enthusiastic towards guests and there was no feeling of warmth or welcome from them. Possibly because they where so few in number. The hotel seriously lacks enough staff to provide much of a service. They hardly provide you with any extras in the room with only 2 coffee pods provided each day with nothing other than coffee top ups provided beyond the first day. The spa area was fantastic, 10 years ago but now its very worn and showing its age.I couldnt believe that for this level of hotel how dirty and unclean it was. Brown tide marks around the pool, black mould on the shower heads in the thermal area and the ice room smelt mouldy and was covered in black mould especially around the tube where the ice came out, the shower head and the cubicle. All the fancy showers in the thermal area didnt work as they should or didnt work at all. Most of the thermal pool jets didnt work apart from the odd few, tiles were missing, dirty windows and unclean floors. This hotel whilst lovely needs to seriously look at the service it is providing especially to guests who stay beyond a couple of days and invest maintenance and a deep clean of its spa area. Sadly this was far from a five star experience. "

"Clean and well presented. Staff very helpful. Continental breakfast limited. No fruit salads, porridge, bananas, oat milk, prunes, granolas, cereal toppings or berries etc. "

"The breakfast has changed since the last time we visited. It says that it's healthier with a very limited choice of cereal, although I found the granola very sweet. There are no longer any fried eggs or fried potatoes. Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, they still serve traditional bar meals with chips and mayonnaise, so doesn't seem a joined up approach? Preferred the previous system."
