The Omega Lodge is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. Myself and my 7 year-old son were there for three nights over Easter. Unfortunately, it rained nearly nonstop the entire weekend, so we didn't get to go on any of the tours (waterfall hike and rafting) we had wanted to do. Can't control the weather! We were plenty able to occupy our time reading, playing games, and getting to know the owners, Sylvia & Udo, and their wonderful staff. They have two super sweet Rottweilers and a resident cat that live at the lodge, and my son adored petting and playing with them. We even hiked along the river with the dogs! What an experience.
I did yoga in the jungle with their instructor, Cheyenne, which was just awesome! I hadn't done yoga in forever, but she is a great instructor and the setting was just breathtaking. Kelvin at the bar and restaurant took great care of us, as did the other kitchen staff. The food was AMAZING. My son is a picky eater, like most kids his age, and I was a bit worried about what he would eat without kids menu options, but we never went hungry and felt there was plenty of variety even after three days. The food was so incredible, so fresh, and I'm still thinking about it! Also, I think the coffee was the best I've ever had.
We stayed in the Beauty View cabin, and the name doesn't do it justice! You have to see it for yourself. Even though it rained constantly, the view was breathtaking. And falling asleep every night in an open-air cabin? Perfect.
