Tremendously safe and secured even if you are a woman and travelling alone! Women rooms are very spacious as well.

Enjoyed my stay here. Baths and sauna in the basement were a nice bonus. Only showers are in the basement. Culture shock warning for westerners, the baths use typical onsen rules (ie. No clothing in bath and shower areas). You can use your face/hand towel though as a “modesty” towel to cover up down there. No soaking your hair in tubs and be sure to shower before entering tubs. There is a large instruction sheet in the change room with more guidelines. Staff was friendly and helpful. Sheets and pillows etc were clean and housekeeping will make your bed everyday if you leave your bunk door open. Large tv in bunk was nice, would have appreciated an hdmi cable for hooking up computer (perhaps something staff might add in future?). Plenty of ac and usb options in bunk. The only things I can think of that were negatives is the mattress is a tad hard (personal taste) and occasionally the hot water tub smelled a bit of chemicals (chlorine maybe?). I heard some guests complain that their bunks were too warm, but mine was fine. Would stay here again!
