#localgem View from the Dmanisi area. Dmanisi is an archaeological site located in the southern Kvemo Kartli region of the country of Georgia.

This area was the site of a startling archaeological find some years ago - that find being the oldest evidence ever of humans outside of Africa. 5 sets of skulls were discovered here, all of them dating from nearly 1.8 million years ago.

Also located here (and visible in this picture) is the Dmanisi Sioni, a Georgian Orthodox church that dates from the 6th century.

The atmosphere here is unbeatable in the whole country, though unfortunately they do not clean the mens showers. I stayed two weeks and it was cleaned 0 times. They only remove left clothes and wash products from the bin. "
