This hotel is near to kunming train station. Hotel staff is helpful. I requested a non smoking room, but the smoking smell is so strong from the previous guests, that I can smell it the moment I stand at the door. I requested for change room and the staff is very helpful, change immediately. The bed is very hard. A Chinese grandma actually allow her grandchild to play ball at 7th floor lift lobby!!! We have to stop her from distrusting the rest of the guests.

Great value and service in Kunming
The airport express bus Line 2 stopped right in front of this hotel. The check-in and check-out process was friendly and efficient. My room on the top floor of the lower building was spacious and completely refurbished. I stayed for six nights and was very pleased with the value and location of this property. The restaurants and room service were also excellent? A word of caution: be prepared to communicate in basic Chinese.

They let people smoking in a no smoking hotel
The hotel is nearby the train and bus stations. The airport bus is just right outside the hotel main entrance. I requested non smoking floor but see the people smoking in the hallway, i notified the staffs and was told they can't do anything about stop them from smoking.

Good but can be improved
Overall, the location is superb as it's located at the terminal of the airport shuttle bus and walking distance from the kunming train station. Breakfast selection wasn't that fantastic and can be improved in terms of variety. Housekeeping is great with clean linen and good service. The bad now ... They didn't check the room properly before allowing guest to move into the room. I was trapped inside the toilet as the toilet for lock was jammed. Luckily there's a in-house phone in the toilet but no directory attached. I've to try letting random numbers before I managed to contact the front desk to rescue me! It'll better if they also provide a list of numbers to dial on the toilet phone, in case the same situation happens again; not many guests would take note of the numbers, unless necessary. So hotel would be better to think from the guests' perspective. Grateful for the technician who spent nearly an hour in knocking down the door to save me from having to spend the night inside a toilet.

Excellent location for airport/train connection; comfortable bed, clean big room. Wifi was unpredictable though. Another plus is the popular Fuzhaolou restaurant linked to the hotel

Centrally located with the railway station and metro station within walking distance. Airport bus terminal immediately outside the hotel. Staff are great and helpful. Information on locality easily obtained from front desk. Room is clean and spacious.

Room allocation shoudl have been better
Initially the room allocated was opposite the lift and noisy. Requested a room change and was allocated a room in the old part of the hotel, dim and smelt of cigarette. Finally I got a nice room and have a comfortable stay. The whole check-in process took 45 minutes because of the room changes.

I suppose it is not there fault but 99 percent of staff on reception only spoke Chinese and just wanted money off you.No facilities for booking trips and did not know much about area.Did it all myself mainly.Hotel clean but not run very well.Dont know what breakfast was like got it outside so can't comment.

Very good hotel in Kunming
I stayed in the hotel four nights for the conference. Everything was very good, the room was comfortable and clean, wifi worked fast and smoothly. The breakfast was very good and has substantial western components. In my case, it cost 50 yuan but it was worth the price. The location is very good, about 400 meters frim the subway station South Ring Road and about 10 minutes walk from the railway station. Will definitely stay there if I am in Kunming.

A hotel near train station and airport shuttle
Walking distance to Kunming train station and metro. At the end of the airport shuttle bus 2. Room is comfortable and clean. Housekeeping is really good (first time housekeeping helped me to wash my sock lol) but as usual Do not Disturb sign is useless in most china hotels. Lot of food around.

Off the train one night stay
The hotel is in a walking distant from the Kunming railway station and there is a airport express bus station right at the hotel front door. There are lot of small stores nearby.

Great Breakfast Buffet, disappointing evening one
Well located as its at the end of the Number 2 airport shuttle. Although reception is laid out like a four star hotel, the room wasn't great, Block A may well be four star but B certainly wasn't. Our room needed decorating, grubby carpet and graffiti on the walls was visible. The rooms above were also being renovated, what a noise. But the breakfast was excellent, huge buffet selection. So impressed we went for the evening buffet. What a disappointment. If you can't get there early, don't bother, the best stuff was gone and not replenished. Although we didn't try any of the other restaurants. Also have to say Kunming is a dull city, miles to the nearest bar and a bit of a police state!

I was reasonably satisfied 2 years ago so I came back. Excellent food in the revolving restaurant though they still seem perpetually confused about payment and little English among the restaurant management. Wifi is very much improved. The location is brilliant. Reception staff seem much betterthan those who were there 2 years ago. Recommended, at least for the start of a stay in Kunming. 3 star +

Nice place near station of Kunming
Jin Jiang Hotel is near the station of Kunming and center of city. There are a lot of interesting stores of the food and things. The only bad thing is that it took long time for check-in. It's maybe not enough to train the hoteliers. They didn't notice about my reservation's information at once. My group members are 12 persons. We had to wait long time while they did check in process.

Convenient location but not the cleanest
The lobby and staff were very nice. The room was moderately clean, but it reeked of cigarette smoke. The grout in the shower could use a good bleaching, and the bathroom countertop was had clearly not been wiped thoroughly. Sheets were clean, but mattress was on the hard side. Except for the smell, it was okay for an overnight stay.

It was a very pleasant stay. Their service was excellent. I was early when I check in. They give me a coupon to have a drink in their cafe and try to clean up a room in half hour for me. Their location is convenient There is a direct airport bus to and from the hotel. it's 10 minute walk to the railway station. I will definitely comeback again

Really worked for our family vacation
This is a very handy hotel in Kunming. It is close to the train station so connecting to other parts of Yunnan is super easy. There are lots of taxis passing by so going around Kunming or surrounding areas is a breeze. The hotel has a very good Yunnan restaurant in it, and there are several very tasty options nearby. The hotel could not be called super modern; it has a very strong style from the 80s. I really appreciated that this style is unchanged. Kind of felt like being in a time machine. Basic things like the bathroom and WiFi worked very well. Will book again when in Kunming.

Kept turing off air conditioning. Claimed to not allow it if outside temp was below 26° C. Room was a sweat box. Every thing else fine, but it was over shadowed by the stiffling room.

This is an older hotel. Bed was comfortable and clean but bathroom is a little run down. We could not get the heating to work - and we spent a couple of quite cold nights.

Slightly dated hotel but price was ok
Stayed in April in 2 separate rooms on level 11 and 12 in Tower A. Hotel was ok. The bathroom was quite old with shower over bathtub and a shower curtain. The carpets were a little old and marked. Pillows were not the most comfortable. We were told the rooms we booked (executive rooms) were already all taken so we were upgraded to these rooms. Not sure what the condition of the other rooms were then?! We paid for the hotel buffet breakfast for one of the mornings. It was ok and view was nice from the 23rd floor but as some people mentioned, it was not revolving. Price of hotel room was quite good compared to other hotels. It is about 30 min drive to the airport. There is a night time hawker food lane to the left of the hotel and some small restaurants. We booked a private driver to take us to Shilin Stone Forest and Jiuxiang Caves which is about 2 hours drive away. The young man at the hotel entrance was very helpful. He advised us to take the taxi instead of the bus to Dayuan Park (after checking on his phone) and even went out to the street to help us hail 2 taxis. Best customer service from this man out of all the dealings with the staff. Not sure if would recommend this hotel other than the price. Maybe have a look around at other hotels.

No welcome at the hotel minus a grunt or two. We were treated in silence until they mentioned that we had to pay a deposit. No reason for why we needed to pay a deposit. Then after asking several times they kind of grunted it was for the room key. The room had trouble with getting the lights on, the housekeeping came after we were in our room to drop off supplies, and the restaurants had food that was a little dry. Noisy.

Kunming City is the Flower City in China
Kunming is off the travelers path of choice places to go. Being inland. It is one of the cleanest cities for air quality and the climate is okay, I was told that it has never snowed here. Hotel staff are accommodating and if you only ask for them to help you they will write a translation note for you to get to your destination and back to the hotel. It is a safe hotel too, which I like, you can not worry about your belongings when you are out and about.
