"My favorite hotel in Japan! It was absolutely perfect in every way. Clean, beautifully decorated, helpful staff, easy check in, super quiet, comfortable beds, room size was large and felt more like a small apartment with a sitting area and dividing doors. Location is near so many popular spots Gion, Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, lots of shops and restaurants, the river and close to subway stations. I did not want to leave. Highly recommend! "

"Conveniently located hotel with good connections to explore the city. Double bed was small against a wall and uncomfortable for a couple to have a good night's sleep. "

I brought my students on a spiritual pilgrimage to Japan and this hotel made everyone wonderful while we were in Kyoto⛩️ I'm getting ready to make another reservation to come back with my husband in a few days. "The breakfast menu was fairly average, all pre-made and not that appetising (in my option). The staff were friendly and helpful enough, but the time to check in was very slow. One of the servers in the bar took our order then preceded to take other orders, and left us for a good 5 minutes sitting at the bar with nothing....so we left. Laundry facilities were good and inexpensive. The room were very very small and we were not able to unback our bags nor even place them where there they weren't in the way. Big negative. The position of the hotel was very good; close to Gion and good restaurants and other shopping. Probably the best aspect of our stay. "
