Beautiful setting. Great area. Clean room but so dark, horrible lighting. Beds were awful-like sleeping on box springs! People were lovely, food was good. The rooms were just too dark and way too uncomfortable

The worst of all
It was the worst experience i had in thailand. The room waa disgusting all information on here were not correct and pictures very misleading. The shower was broken and i tried all 4 nights to get it fixed. No care at all. Wall was coming of and mould everywhere. The fridge turned off when you left the room. Staff didnt speak english properly. You cant cancel because of the condition of the room. Its not worth it for the money. The owner was ignorant with zero understanding.

The property is old. The gardens and landacaping is well taken care of. I had a room with two twin beds. It features your basic needs. Staff is friendly.

Pros: Located close to numerous restaurants and bars but far enough away that you didnt hear them from the room. Room is basic but comfortable enough. Very clean but could use a coat of paint. Good air conditioner in my room. Cons: No safe to store valuables. Thin walls, so noisy neighbours can be a problem. No way to turn off outside light and top row of windows don't have curtains so room is very light for sleeping.

The room had no air conditioning and the heat was unbearable the shower was a trickle of water and the pool was dirty, it was such a disappointment I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The resort is on the east side on the beach which isn’t the swimming side. But the rooms and staff are amazing. They do have a free breakfast it’s very basic and could use some changing up a bit but otherwise it’s enough to get you by. Rooms were clean and updated. Comfy beds. Good distance to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Near the diamond Cave. The property’s pool could use some updating and cleaning up

It’s not a luxury hotel but offers a comfortable, clean room with a decent pool, good restaurant and extras (entertainment nights, massage spa, tour operator). Staff is very friendly. Good breakfast buffet. At a good price for the area, I’d definitely recommend!

The property was beautiful, I love the layout of all of the rooms, very well taken care of with greenery. The rooms were a standard room that you would see in Thailand with geckos and one cockroach in the room. No big deal. My only main concern would be the owner from the resort was quite rude, and after talking to a few other guests, I wasn’t the only one who had an encounter with him. This was my second time staying here, I would maybe consider staying on the future, but I don’t want to have to deal with him again :)

We had a great experience with the staff being friendly. Don't expect a super fancy hotel though. It was nice and had the basic amenities that we needed. The main down side is that it was a far walk from the pier with luggage and the hotel does not include pick up service.

It’s okay for a budget hotel. Basic room with a bed and private bathroom. WiFi didn’t work in the room and it wasn’t very comfortable. But once again, for the price you get what you pay for. It’s fine if you want to save money

Bad air conditioning and cockroaches
The air conditioning only had 1 setting which was freezing and exceptionally loud. There were cockroaches in the room/bathroom and they must have been in the ceiling too as they made a lot of noise in the night. Pool was mucky too.

Railay Viewpoint Hotel
Staff was really friendly and always helpful with Banh questions or requests. Room was constantly full of ants including the bed :( but it’s an island so you’re going to have some insect issues! Great prices for the accommodation, east side is just a short walk to anything. No supermarkets or bakeries in Railay so you can’t make your own food, just junk food from minimarts or restaurants, so that can add up quick!

The price of $54 for a standard A/C was pretty steep but , all in all the hotel wasn’t bad, area is pretty good for restaurants/stores etc. Having power go out twice was kind of frustrating also. Breakfast was awesome and the staff was great though!

Okay but didnt love it
We stayed during low season and the place was deserted but we were still put at the furthest building from the beach. The room was dirty and dated. Breakfast was small and not available at 7 as listed. That being said Railey East is an amazing area and Viewpoint is close to everything.

Cancelled my stay
We landed at Railay Beach which is at the west shore. The Viewpoint Resort is at the east shore. We had to walk with our bags for about one km across the island to get to the Viewpoint. It was very hot and humid and the path across the island goes thru some areas that smell like sewer. When we got to the east side it was low tide. There is no beach in the area where the Viewpoint is, just mangroves. I expected the resort to be on a beach and it is not. It has an OK pool. WiFi only in the area close to the reception, not in the bungalows. To go to a beach it is a 15 - 20 minutes walk. My friend and I had different rooms. Hers was very basic, more like for backpackers. Mine was a double room, better than hers but still very basic. I think there was only one towel in my room. You need to ask for towels at the reception when going to the pool or a beach. There is no safe in the rooms, only at the reception, and it is only available for limited time during the day. After a very disappointing first impression, we headed to the west shore and found vacancies at the Village, which is a much better resort. We tried to cancel our reservation at the Viewpoint but they refused and still charged me for the three nights I have reserved. Anyway, I took it as a sunk cost and moved to the Village and had a great time there.

Standard room is better than superior room
I stayed 1 week on standard and superior rooms. Superior room have twice the price over the standard room but had worse room condition. In addition, there were no distinct difference between standard and superior rooms (just a little bit roomy).

Hotel is almost at the end of the line of hotels, sketchy area and after a walk up a hill you're met with a brutal bed. Thx God they took my bags up !

very helpful and friendly staff, good made to order breakfast, near beaches, has a convenient tour booking person at hotel to help, the only downside was our bathroom shower wouldn't turn off completely so you could constantly hear the sound of running water.

There was a problem with check in also. They couldn't find my reservation even when I booked through Expedia and had my confirmation email to show them. Wasn't sure if they had a room for us to start with! Our room was dirty and disgusting. The bed sheets were stained, dirty and looked like they were not changed between multiple guests! The bathroom was moldy and dirty. Beds were not comfortable. We stripped the bed and slept on the "cleanest" sheet in the room and used our beach towel as blankets. For the price of the hotel, spend a little bit more and stay elsewhere or take a long tail back to Au Nang! Breakfast wasn't great!! Would never stay here again!

HORRIBLE. Worst stay in all of Thailand!
I usually don't write bad reviews, but this place needs it. Stay far far away, only reason we stayed was because last place left in railey beach. Wish I slept on beach. Bathrooms moldy, they are rude (everyone else in Thailand friendly as can be), they don't care to clean. I would have literally rather slept on the beautiful beaches around. Unless you are on your last dollar do not stay. I'd rather be at the cheapest hostel in Bangkok.

Budget Hotel with Budget Amenities
You get what you pay for - Aircon that spits out chunks of ice and dirt onto your bed, no daily cleaning of your room unless you are willing to part with your room key for 4 hours, low water pressure - and a hotel 'resort' that is literally falling apart. Bed was akin to sleeping on a wood plank - bathroom had ants and lots of mold. The beds were clean and pillows ok. No working WiFi the entire stay despite many attempts. Buffet breakfast was ok with coffee, tea, eggs, toast, and some Thai food - cereal, yogurt, etc. Location is pretty good for nightlife and easy access to Railey East/West. If you just want a room to sleep in without many comforts at a decent price, this is a good deal - but be aware of the limitations. Bonus, hotel tried to charge nearly double for our boat ride off the island (I've visited Krabi four times and I know it should only cost 100 THB per person for a long-tail ride back to the mainland and not 180) - which just left a sour taste given the resort's lack of maintenance and upkeep.

My husband and i stayed at Viewpoint for just over a week. The staff are very friendly. The room was clean but we had some issues with the cleaning service, wifi and hot water. The rooms didn't always get cleaned (you need to request to get it cleaned, but even when we did it didn't always get dome). The wifi would be on and off every day. They had individual hot water heaters in the bathroom but it wasn't always working. The pool was nice, the grounds well kept.

Subpar hotel in Krabi located on EAST Railay Beach
Hotel is only accessible by boat. Once you're on the island, you are on the opposite side of the beaches for tourists. Our room was comfortable and bathroom was clean, however there were ants everywhere. Hotel staff was extremely unhelpful and only cleans the room if you ask. Hotel includes access to a pool which is very clean. WIFI was terrible and hotel's "free" breakfast buffet was covered in bugs, so we opted to eat elsewhere. In general, I'd recommend spending a little more and staying on West Railay Beach.

I stayed end of May, during hot season better to not try fan room. I changed room next day. In the reception except one lady, others helpful. But they give one room at the corner and behind even all facility almost emthy. Staff looks tired and uninteresting maybe because of end of season, they wanna go home. Breakfast was nice.

The man who is the boss was very very rude and mean. Made us feel uncomfortable. Can tell the people who work there don't always agree with him but have to do as he says. Not good service at all. Not worth the money. We paid for ocean view but did not get it as the boss didn't like that we booked online and not straight at the resort. Therefore we got a less favorable room.

Enjoyable stay @ Railay Viewpoint Hotel.
I was in Railay to rock climb and the Railay viewpoint hotel was in a great spot near my climbing school. The room was sapcious with a retro vibe, wspecilally the bathroom which was tiled with rocks.

Pretty basic but not a bad hotel for the price. Nice pool area and free breakfast. Room was a decent size although the air con could have worked better. Just a short walk to beautiful beaches and very close to restaurants and bars.

Excellent room space, storage, location, price. If it had WiFi it would be perfect. Didn't use pool but it looked good. Only complaint is the Internet service, we waited 45 minutes in the morning for staff to open the door when we needed to print a ferry ticket. Breakfast was ordinary.

Nice stay, Chose a Mountain view room with extra spacious room. Quite decent breakfast-buffet. Friendley Staff. Most couples, some families and a few backpackers. Some things need an upgrade, but I think you get a fair price overall!

Clean is about the only good thing
When we arrived they told us our room had a problem so they had to move us to a room with two singles from a room with a double, and we could switch the next night, no problem, we are flexible and the room was pleasant We brought down our things the next morning to put in a room while we were out for the day and were told we could not come back to check into our new room until 4 o clock, regular check in is at 2 Our friends under the same booking who had their correct room were also told they had to change rooms in the morning for reasons unknown Ok so we come back at 4 and have been upgraded to a super great room (supposedly) but as we are walking away from the desk the manager calls out that because we are sooo lucky we have to promise to check out of our fancy room at 9 am instead of 12 because he's promised it to someone else for early check in at 10! When we get to our "fancy" room the shower does not work well, and breaks completely the next morning. We were told we could shower in the massage place attached which turned out to be a rooftop shower which was pretty gross. All and all we spent the majority of our stay here without a room, and with all of our luggage in an unlocked room

I didn't see inside any other hotels on Railay so I don't know what the standards are there. My room seemed fine; it was a little weird that the bathroom had an open layout without a shower curtain, just a drain in the middle. My only real issue was that the hotel staff came knocking on my door at 10ish PM on the second night of my two night stay, seemingly confused as to weather I had paid for a second night. I gave them the printout of my Expedia reservation and the woman went back to the front desk for a few minutes before coming back and saying everything was fine.

backpacking with a friend. you definitely get what your pay for. we paid 20$ per night, so 10$ each. and that includes breakfast as well. the hotel is just a 5 min walk from the beach, and 2 min to restaurants, supermarkets etc. great location. the staff were all friendly, but not everyone could speak really well english. if you actually need help with anything that doesn't have anything to do with the hotel itself, you should ask the tourist informants. overall a nice hotel with great facilities.

This was my second time returning to this hotel (stayed once with a tour and booked it again for simplicity) and comparing it to the other places we stayed throughout Thailand, I would rank it average at best. The facilities are nice (the restaurant, spa and pool) and the rooms were clean and comfortable. They charge you quite a bit for wifi access, whereas most places it is free. We booked our airport transfer through the hotel, knowing full well that hotels generally charge a bit more, which is perfectly fine. When we arrived we found out that the hotel had charged us DOUBLE what all the companies in the area were charing; was definitely disappointed and not impressed with this. Also the staff weren't overly helpful; we got really sick in Railay and were asking at the restaurant for some bread or toast. No one seemed to be able to understand us and so after 10 minutes we just gave up. They were still friendly, just not very helpful. Overall still a decent hotel with maybe just some customer service issues.

Hard To Find Anything Good about This Resort!
This hotel is not a 3 star! A 2 star at best! The shower drain was constantly plugged, as well as the bathroom sink! The smell coming up from the sink drain was sewer smell and nauseating! The beds springs were very hard. The garbage truck loaded garbage every morning next to the outside restaurant sitting area and the smells while trying to have breakfast added to the already unpleasant location with outside nasty sewer smells and the odour from the previous nights servings alcohol and food! It was probably the worst hotel my husband and I have stayed at in all of our travels in many places throughout the world.
