With the new owners just having taken over ,,WE were well looked after the meals were as good if not better than we have had elsewhere ,,These are a young couple giving it a go and i am shore in time will do very well ,,Well worth a visit value for money and a good old west coast pub experience,,
They sprayt the room, So you didn’t smel it. Horrible. No WiFi in the room, you had to Go to a bar where it smelt like a room that was closed for Manny years. Cathair in the towels. Very poor breakfast. Sorry this place is Realy fallen apart. Shame on you hotels.com that this is in your register. Check this place yourself.

The location of this property was the only + about our stay-set in beautiful countryside but very disappointing accommodation, it really needs a lot of attention to make it more appealing to visitors in the area ! However I would visit again

the hosts were super friendly and the property has lots of character.
Odd location; middle of nowhere with no signage.
Owner’s daughter was waiting in a Ute on the side of the road for us. The owner was off in Hokitika. The daughter was lovely and very friendly but it was very weird and disappointing.
Old room; tiny bathroom. But comfy bed.
Very quiet as we were the only guests.
Wasn’t sure how to check out as we’d only been given a key by the daughter, so the next morning we just left the key where we’d found it.

Hi There, thanks for taking the time to post a review, we are happy you enjoyed your stay, and do our best to add to a positive holiday for our guests,
We had a hard time finding the place. Like 3 hours of running up and down Kowhitirangi Road. A sign would've been a good idea. Otherwise we really liked the place. People friendly, Pet friendly, nice meal, What more can one ask for. Thank you.

Thankyou for your review, sorry we were tricky to find, but glad we were worth the effort. We do have a couple of signs on the way up the main road and at the end of the 'T' intersection, but I blame my partner the designer....they are lovely signs, with a landscape background, but because of this they tend to blend into the scenery!!!, and can be easily missed. Thanks for your input, you have prompted me to put a couple of flags on them. Happy New Year.
We just needed a place to stay for one night, we arrived late and left early so we didn’t spend that much time there. We spoke a little bit with the owners who were kind.
Our double room was tiny but the bed and sheets were clean. From our room we had to walk outside in the dark to go to the shared bathroom, so depending on the season it could be cold.
The breakfast room was small but useful with some amenities. Don’t expect a big breakfast it was just toast, cereal, tea and coffee.

It is good to hear we were there when you needed it! We are a small country Inn, basic, but work hard to keep everything clean and tidy, so thanks for noticing! your review is appreciated.
Not what we expected, we thought that we had booked a Country Inn not a working men's club. We were all in one room (two kid's two adults)
the toilet was 20 yard's down the hall way plus the boy's loo was outside.
The kitchen was by far the best room in the place with a breakfast included in the price, would we book it again !! a big fat nooooo.
The bathrooms were not cleaned often enough and it was freezing in the building.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to review us, I am surprised to see your concerns about our bathrooms, we work hard to keep everything clean and tidy, and our consistent high reviews on cleanliness reflect that. We do supply heating for all the rooms and communal 'day room', but perhaps Dad neglected to light the fire in the Bar area, we do apologise.
went to book in all be it 30 mins early and no staff there so did not stay

Hi, We are disappointed to read your review, as explained on the phone, we were there, just out the back working on the grounds, as you were not expected until after 2pm. Our Hotel is situated 14kms out of Hokitika, on route to the Hokitika Gorge, Lake Kaniere and Dorothy Falls, as well as many other tourist attractions, as described in our listing, and is very popular during the tourist season. Perhaps these were not what you were in the area to visit. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday in NZ
It was very good and the owners were very helpful will be back

We were the only customers. Owner did not seem to have any idea how much to charge to upgrade to the en-suite room.Quoted from $10 to $40 then settled on $23. which we accepted as the alternative involved going outside to access the toilets. No evening meals available. Breakfast oats available but no means to cook them. Toast tea coffee breakfast supplied.

HI there, thanks for your review, sorry for the confusion on your room upgrade, but we did manage to settle things, you were our first booking via, the new management system, and we were still finding our feet. We appreciated your patience.
A little out the way so you will need a car if staying here. Room and toilets were clean. The lady was really friendly. There was a tv room with facilities to make toast, cereal and hot drinks
Only downside was that there was no Wi-Fi to connect to. .

Hi, thanks for taking the time to place a review, we agree the Wi-Fi is patchy, comes with our location....which we love. Next time we will show you the 'hot spots'. Mum enjoyed you staying too. Happy days,
Hi, thanks for your feedback, however it would have been nice, if you could have voiced your concerns at the time, so we were able to help you in anyway.
