The Impiana is located right on the beach in a quiet area outside of Chewang. They provide beach/ pool towels and the breakfast buffet gets 10/10. The beach bar staff, especially Chai were fantastic. Plenty of complimentary toiletries and small bottles of water are provided. A little slice of heaven on a pretty special island.

Not like expected
Our room wasn’t like expected. We ordered Seawiew/Seaside. Got the bottom floor with really not much view - and really not much privacy. The room was smelly (damp smell) and really humid (the duvet and everything was all wet). We got another room the next day, after complaining - was a little bit better cause of the privacy, but no seaview. The hole hotel was a bit “tired” and really not like the pictures :)

Nice but rather old Hotel
It's a rather old hotel, accordingly are the furnishings. I liked the location (outside of Chaweng) since I was flexible with my own vehicle. I was a bit disapointed about how they care & clean the beach. There was one person which start cleaning after 11am. Nobody care about the arrangement of the sunbeds. And YES - I know, it was a stormy time when I stayed there. Nevertheless for the rather high prices they charge, I would expect more careness related to the beach even when the sea is stormy. The trash was just collected aside of the hotel which didn't really look inviting. However - I will probably stay there again but not during Nov-Dec when the sea is usually stormy and the prices are high.

From the moment we arrived the staff took great care of us. They were kind, helpful, sweet, fun and thoughtful. The property has gorgeous trees and I can’t say enough about the quiet beach. It was truly heaven. This part of Chaweng is not for big partiers. There were couples and families. Everyone was friendly and calm. There is a pool table and beach bar for some chill time. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. I just adored our stay!

The bar and breakfast staff were lovely and very friendly and the hotel is right on a beach. We were annoyed to find the Spa was closed as well as the Tamarind restaurant leaving very few options for food. Although the available food and drinks were ok they were very expensive in comparison to elsewhere. There are a few places to eat nearby but they involve a walk along the busy main island ring road which only has a foot path in a few small areas and is not well lit. Not very safe!! Most public areas and rooms appear to need a lot of TLC as there has clearly been no investment or upkeep for a long time. Looking very neglected in some areas. Sadly we were also subject to a scam and lost 8150 Thai Baht (£200) which in our opinion could have been avoided if the hotel had better system and email security. No apology was offered or any offer of real assistance which makes us feel that maybe some staff are involved although they denied this when we suggested that may be the case. A very disappointing stay and will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

Property is outdated and unkept. Upon check in I was given a room that had not been cleaned. Then given a room that had a no working safe that was ripped from the wall. The new room was also filthy with moldy curtains. The beach in front of Property was not clean and guest where picking up debries and seaweed themselves. As compensation I was given 30% off a dinner....that was horrible also. Room pictures and decriptions are decieving. I would not recommend nor whould I stay here again.

Borderline 3 Star!!
Good point - Great location on the nicest part of Chaweng Noi with a great beachfront position. You can usually get a sun lounger, although there some tourists that still try and reserve some of the loungers with towels. The visual aesthetic looks great with nice gardens and reception. When you come out the hotel a short 5-7 min walk up a little hill you will see a parade of nice restaurants which are all worth a try. Def recommend Sean OGs restaurant - Amazing Thai food - Don't be fooled by the name. The hotel breakfast is ok with a decent selection, and good service for having eggs made to order. The Bad points - The rooms are beyond tired. What you see in the hotel images on all hotel websites for Impiana are pics of this hotel probably over 10 years ago. This place is knackered to the point they have tried to sticky plaster degradation in the rooms so much its a mess. The bathrooms are filthy and cleaning consists of a quick mop and a wipe down. There is no proper clean , so much so you can still see grout wash on the walls from regrouting and black scum on all the shower fittings, which shows the cleaning standard. The TV channels do not all work and those that do have very poor picture quality - think when you used to have an aerial on your TV you had to move around to get a decent picture!! WiFi is crap. Drops signal and is pot luck if you get a connection long or strong enough to browse or check social media. Don't bother with lunch/dinner overpriced and bland!

Room is quite dirty. 2/3 plugs in room don't work. Dogs around the hotel. Bathroom door didn't shut properly. Breakfast staff we're not good e.g. Joob! Did not clean our room as requested once. No special birthday effort Ice is amazing! M is great!

Nice hotel situated right on the beach.
Stayed 8 nights, bungalow was in a perfect position near the beach bar and restaurant, pool fairly small compared to other resorts but when you have such a beautiful beautiful beach and shade why bother.Staff were fantastic and very helpful.Good breakfast. Would stay there again.

Beautiful setting
Next to the beach the view from our room was superb. The room itself was spacious and comfortable but let down with a poor quality mattress. Air conditioning worked well. Hotel facilities great. Wi-Fi great. Breakfasts and lunches excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Happy hour 2-4 and 7-9pm. Free shuttle to Chewang Beach. Our one real minus was that the hotel is a little isolated with no shops.or restaurants close by. You had to rely on the shuttle or the songthawe which passed the hotel frequently.

Overrated hotel !
We spent the first 1 and 1/2 days in this hotel in the heat and humidity of Koh Samui without air-conditioning. First stayed in room 115 without air condition. We noticed that during the course of our first night of sleep. Upon pointing this out to hotel staff the next day , they send their engineer to look at the room. The ceiling next to the bathroom where the central air-conditioning was dripping with water. He said there was something wrong with the compressor and were told to wait ,. Waited for a couple of hours and upon further complaining they moved us to room 117. Yes, you guessed that air-conditioning did not work either. we waited another couple of hours as the hotel staff was probably waiting for some kind of miracle and everything would be all right. Finally I was forced to call Expedia to complain and they moved us to another room on the second floor with a working air conditioner. FURTHER BADS The rooms on the first floor which they note as luxury seaside are very small. They basically fit a king size bed and the hotel furniture with little space to move around. To compensate for this the sea side facing wall of the room is all glass. So if you have it open you feel like you are in a fish bowl is everybody is walking past you and if you close it , it becomes a bit claustrophobic. SOME GOODS 1)Breakfast varied with good quality 2) The third room which they upgraded us was of decent size. Basically it is a room and a half with a nice balcony

We really enjoyed our stay at the Impiana Resort. It was a very relaxing, beautiful place. One of the key factors to our experience, was the friendliness of the staff, especially the manager, and, with out exception, every other guest that we met during our stay. Beautiful luxury hotel
The hotel was lovely, smart and clean. Our room had a balcony overlooking the resort and the sea just beyond; the view was incredible! When we arrived we were provided with wet towels and cold drinks to freshen up. We were booked in and shown to our room, with staff taking our bags for us. As part of our stay, we recieved a complimentary 15 minute neck and shoulder massage, at their on site spa. Breakfast was included, which offered an extensive buffet and a la carté menu. The food at the resort was excellent, in particular the dinner that we had on our second night. The cost of the food was a little high, but expected when we realised the quality of food they produce. The resort sits on its own private part of the Chaweng Noi beach, which is right at the foot of the resort. The walk from the pool to the beach is probably 10 metres. The pool was a good size, chlorinated instead of salt water. The hotel is quite a long way from the 'town centre' of Chaweng. On our first night we set out to find somewhere for dinner, walking along hilly, dusty, busy roads with no pavement. We walked for around 20 minutes before we gave up and ate at the nearest restaurant. After dinner we walked on towards Chaweng, which wasn't too much further. We got a cab back, for 100 baht, which I'd recommend doing both ways; It's a long way to walk in the Thai heat!
