Friendly people, nice place
This place is a good starting point for visiting Cochin. It's an old house, centrally located with three rooms to let on the second floor. There are no screens on the windows unfortunately so they have to be closed at night. Also the better rooms cost more but were worth it.

Very pleasant
It was lovely. We really enjoyed Fort Kochi and the hotel was lovely. Well located, clean and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Friendly hosts
Had a great stay here, it's very central to everything. The hosts are very friendly and helpful with booking a car, local good places to eat and even threw in free breakfast.

Lovely inn near the Chinese fishing nets.
This inn feels rather like a home stay, in a good way. The hosts are sweet and hospitable, our room was charming, and the location was perfect -- a quiet street in a central location. Terrific value.

Lovely homestay in great area of Fort Cochin
My wife and I stayed 2 nights here and Stuart and Inez were lovely, warm hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and as comfortable as possible. The room was nice and cool with AC, very clean and a good size. Excellent location as well.

Budget room at not so budget price
We booked a non a/c room at Madeleine Inn based on reviews and inclusions listed on the booking site this sounded like a perfect wind down to a 3 month adventure around India. How sadly wrong we were. When you first walk in the door you are greeted by the toxic smell of mould and mildew. The owner is nice enough and showed us to our room, telling us about how it is a heritage house and things cannot be done to it. I suspect that you are allowed to clean and freshen up heritage houses! Our room it turns out is through a large storage room and the room itself is another smaller storage room with a bed and table in it. It is very dirty with some heritage age dust on the floor. The private bathroom is down some stairs away from the room. There is no way of locking the room so carry all your valuables if you are going out. There is a stand up fan as our cooling device. There is no screens and mosquitoes are fierce! The inclusions in room on the booking sites are a flat screen TV with cable ( this is down stairs in the common area, which is too smelly to go and sit in) toiletries (nope) bottled water (nope) in room safe um nope not even a lockable room. Ceiling fan (nope) I looked on another booking site and it mentioned a fitness centre (a joke right?) This was a very disappointing stay with only a couple of pluses the location is fantastic, the room thankfully didn't have the mildew smell and the bed was comfortable and big.

coppia di coniugi in pensione estremamente gentili e disponibili ma che deve ancora "imparare" un paio di cose per quanto riguarda organizzazione e pulizia... comunque consigliata se non si hanno pretese, prezzo molto contenuto e posizione centralissima in FortKochi (+ ottimo wi-fi)

Ideal place to stay on Fort Kochi
I spent a weekend in Fort Kochi; the Madeleine Inn was a perfect place to stay. It was extremely hot when I was there and Stuart made sure that the room was comfortably air conditioned. He was also extremely helpful with various tips concerning where to eat, how to find the airport bus, etc.
