Warerfall Bílá Strž, Bohemian Forrest

This is a waterfall on Bílý potok (=White creek) in Bílá Strž (=White gorge) in Šumava (=Bohemian forrest) near border with Germany. The creek descends from ca. 1.000 to 700 metres altitude, the waterfall is in ca. 940 metres and it is the most dramatic part of the gorge. It is a cascade of 13 metres and 7 metres jump over a muscovite rock. Muscovite or mica or isinglass was used as a window slide alternative to glass in medieval Russia, hence the name coming from Moscow.
There is an old-growth forrest around the gorge with spruce (some are 250 years old), fir and sorbus. There is a nice scenic trail in the gorge.

"Aus der Beschriebung ging für uns nicht hervor, dass es nur mit einer steilen Leiter in den oberen Schlafbereich geht. Außerdem konnte man sich dort nur gebückt bewegen, es ist kaum möglich dort zu 2. zu schlafen. Die Dusche sieht toll aus, es funktioniert leider nur die Handbrause. Die Schränke und Kleiderschränke sind mit Kissen und Decken voll, so dass wir aus dem Koffer gelebt haben. Das Sofa ist durchgeseeen. Bei unserem 9 tägigem Auffenthalt mussten wir den Handtuchwechsel einfordern. Das...
