"There are numerous important historic sites in counties Louth and Meath (e.g. Trim Castle and Monasterboice) that are well worth a visit. Nevertheless, the attraction and destination were Cabra Castle Hotel. We were not disappointed. The Castle is impressive inside and out during the day and at night, it is truly spectacular. The grounds are beautiful as well. We stayed in one of the cottage rooms which was large, comfortable, and nicely appointed. As noted in other reviews, it was necessary to open windows to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. My wife and I had dinner in the dining room, and it was a charming and delightful experience. Our entrées were good but not memorable. The hotel staff was welcoming and professional. We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Castle.
