"Ash Grove was the perfect place for our stay. It is out of the way and rather private. It is not in the middle of Paihia but close enough that we could easily drive in to town to eat and go on our tour of the Bay. Even better, it was just down the road from Haruru Falls, which was spectacular. We loved going on a walk along the river. We felt very much at home in our little cottage. "This is such a lovely retreat, all credit to manager Kelly and her family. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and it was much appreciated. The refurbished rooms were nice, clean and warm and the private shower was awesome. We had an awesome time and were lucky to see two kiwi on the grass near the bush even though it was raining, and we heard lots more. It was really magical!"

"Property has a nice ocean view and was a 5 minute walk to a nice beach, Grocery stores are a 10 minute walk away. Restaurants are a 15 minute walk away with lots of options. Property was light and spacious and had everything we needed. "

"Excellent. Very convenient. Room was spacious and well-equipped. Staff was very nice. We actually couldn't make it for the first night because of a change in plans so we tried to contact the hotel but couldn't get through. When we arrived the next day, we did not get any funny looks or stares. We just got the same nice, courteous service we would expect. Plus, the location cannot be beat. Right on the beach. You can literally see the ocean from here! And feel that nice sea breeze wafting through...

"It was like staying in a cabin in the bush. Quiet, spacious, private and shady with a well equipped kitchen, and a bbq on the balcony. Split level sleeping arrangement and large bathroom. Easy walk to the beach and into town. We’d stay there again. "
