"Very comfortable and spacious room, with a small desk, 4 post bed with mosquito net, air conditioning and decent size storage room. Bathroom was nice too.
Staff were very nice and friendly and helped with laundry, scooter rental and tours.

"Cheap place to stay. Decent breakfast. The door lock was questionable. There is a chain on the outside and you use a key lock to lock the door when you leave. "

"Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was basic. Washroom could use a deep cleaning and the water had a foul smell. Ran out of snorkeling equipment, but could rent from nearby vendors. Pool was lovely next to the beach. Great cafe across the street and easy to walk to other nearby restaurants and stores."

"Excellent place to detach from the outside world. So quiet and peaceful. My girlfriends and I used this resort as a respite in our otherwise busy Bali visit. We chose to get massages. They had other options that we do not avail ourselves of. It rained everyday and it was so magical with the view of the rice fields and the tropical landscape, relaxing on our patio enjoying the sounds and smells. We also relaxed by the pool most of one day, very rejuvenating."

"Great hotel in the centre of Ubud. We had the half board option for convenience around our tight itinerary. The first night we arrived late and missed dinner, the hotel approached as to see if we would like this to be added as lunch/dinner on the day of checkout instead.
Beds were comfortable. My only criticism is that our room was potentially part of an adjoining room. And one evening I could hear my next door neighbour snoring. Soundproofing may not be an issue in other room types."
"Our stay at Ayung Resort was one of the highlights of our Southeast Asia trip. We stayed at around seven different properties, and this was easily our favorite.
The villa exceeded our expectations and looked exactly like the photos—no misleading editing like we experienced at some other places in Bali. The beautiful hand-carved wooden details throughout the room gave it an authentic Balinese feel while still feeling truly luxurious.
The location was perfect. Instead of staying in the busy, crowded Ubud Palace area, we were surrounded by lush forest with the soothing sound of the Ayung River. Waking up to monkeys peacefully going about their morning in the trees was a memorable experience.
The resort grounds are large, beautifully landscaped, and impeccably maintained. Housekeeping was outstanding—the room was spotless every day, and water, toiletries, towels, and everything else were replenished without us ever needing to ask. The buggy service was always quick, and every staff member we met was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful.
We also had the seafood dinner one evening, and it was one of the best meals of our trip. Breakfast was good, although after several mornings the selection became a little repetitive.
Overall, this is what true luxury feels like: beautiful surroundings, authentic Balinese craftsmanship, exceptional service, and attention to every detail. Every dollar felt well spent, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended for any"
"I had a great stay, rooms were very clean, the building is old but very well maintained, staff are super nice and helpful. Location is excellent and everything is at walking distance. Only thing that was very annoying was the shower, the head is fixed and not adjustable meaning if you are a short person like me you will have difficulty washing your hair! Other than that it was a great stay, highly recommended."
Royal Kamuela Villas & Suites at Monkey Forest, Ubud - For Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"This is our second visit and the welcoming we received was excellent many staff recognised us from three years ago and were pleased to see us.
As always all staff friendly and very helpful. During a medical episode my wife had all staffed showed concern and comfort and I thank them for that.
Dege our driver for a half day tour was excellent as he was 3 years ago.
Our villa was excellent very comfortable
The two massages we had were excellent with very pleasant surroundings.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Royal Kamuela"
"Was a beautiful time. Next door to yoga barn was a great surprise. Location was amazing and within walking distance to many things. Very helpful friendly staff. Lots of options for food on grounds including gelato. AC worked great. Friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. Well manicured grounds. Little touches like bug lotion and sunscreen. Nice quality bath products. Beautiful pools. Good blow dryers and they loaned me a converter for power. Tooth brushes provided. Just really amazing overall. Was thrilled with my choice. No regrets. Happily would stay again. Dragon fruit bowl and cappuccino were my go tos for breakfast. My son is PICKY and he only wanted to eat at the hotel. Good mix of North American options, but also fresh local. Good prices. No complaints at all"
"We got the room with pool. It was bigger than expected which was a pleasant surprise, and the room itself was spacious. The buffet breakfast was great quality with a variety of options. The highlight was the service provided by staff; everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Very sad to leave this resort."
"Le seul problème c’etait les tableaux et exces de statues dans le resort et les chambres. Les enfants etaient terorisés quand ils voyaient ceci. A part ca merci a l’homme de chambre tres gentil, beau travail, un grand merci a agus superviseur du restaurant. Tres aimable avec nos enfants"
"Always an amazing experience at this hotel. Spacious rooms, extremely helpful staff. Great food. And of course the elephant experiences.
The hotel had to react to the government disallowing elephant rides, and they added several new experiences.
A few things such as the light switches, AC control etc. are a bit aged by now, but that doesn't take away from the overall top rating."
