Probably the nicest bed I have slept in on this vacation. Only one electrical outlet in the room, shared with the mini fridge and television set, so if you have any electronics to charge, you take turns. Bathroom is nice but the water shuts down at times and you wait a few minutes for it to return. This motel is a hundred metres to the Kwai River and it’s a ten minute walk to the bridge.

Bamboo house is a unique stay. Family owned and run. The little house is on 'floats' directly on the river. When a boat comes past it gently rocks. It is a very simple Thai stay, with amazing views and hospitality. Breakfast is cooked by mama and is simple and delicious. Great location for the river Kwai bridge and JEATH museum. We would definately recommend and return.

The bamboo houses were interesting and nice to experience with a small sitting area outside each house. Many other guests also were enjoying the experience at night sitting and chatting. Comfortable bed, good wifi and ac. Nice manicured yard and relatively well situated in the city itself. Had view of the river from patio

The location is beautiful on the river. The bamboo huts were great, the place had a lovely feel to it. A short walk up onto the main road and you could flag down a tuk tuk to head to the bars and restaurants. Breakfast was basic and did not vary for the 4 days we were there, but for the price you coukd not complain.

Beautiful family run hotel and amazing food!
Beautiful surroundings and only a 5 minute walk to the bridge over the river Kwai. This is a family run hotel and all the staff were very friendly and happy to help with any questions. The food in the restaurant is outstanding! We enjoyed every single meal we had there! Free breakfast included and they even have a little lounge area outside perfect for reading or working, we loved every minute of our stay here and you can dip into the river Kwai along the back of the hotel where the huts are. Rooms were clean and WiFi all around the hotel. We would highly recommend!

Excellent and quiet location on bridge side of town, walkable to everywhere. Raft rooms are a trip; feel the river. I did not hear or even see a mosquito, though net provided. Just a pallet on the floor and electricity, roll of TP and soap provided. Bring your own towels and share a close by toilet and cold shower/sink arrangement.Open air 'living room' shelter, and there is a wonderful open grassy area on the riverbank for all to share. Classic room 2nd night felt so luxe- with towels, hot water. Soothing celadon green colors, big bed with clean cotton sheets. Breakfast included. High morale garden. Lovely.

More pricy for minimal accomadations.
We booked the Hip room, but were given simple room with amenities of shampoo, shower caps and 2 bottles of water. You can go to another hotel for cheaper and same qualities. Did not have a river view. Staff was indifferent. Restaurant is the only nice quality if you want to have a boat noodle soup. Cheap prices. Location is the best as you can walk to the bridge in 7 minutes. Close to the food vendors there. The hotel should lower their price for their minimal accommodations and not that decent of a room.

Beautiful location
This is a budget hotel with rooms above reception @1100 baht and the gorgeous bamboo bungalows on the lawn @ 1500 baht. In hindsight I would have payed the extra... The hotel is right on the bank of the river Kwai and has a large, perfectly manicured lawn running down to the river. The hotel has a load of domestic bunny rabbits that roam freely around the place. Lovely place to spend your time in Kanchanaburi and only five minutes walk to the bridge, floating restaurants and gem shops...

Lovely location by the river.
A lovely, peaceful spot by the river. It’s not 5*, but perfect location by the river, a little away from the bustle of the town. Breakfast wasn’t great but ok.

Adorable property by the river
Loved this adorable property right by the river. Was quite and peaceful yet within a short walk to main town area and river Kwai bridge. Our suite was floating on the river, and we had a private bathroom. The free breakfast buffet was great

Convenient, quiet and comfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed in one of the little bungalow huts. It was right by the river. It was clean and comfortable, the air conditioner worked well, and the shower was good. The whole place and the grounds were nicely kept and well manicured. It exceeded our expectations for the price. We would definitely stay again.

River view room wasn't really so much.
Booked a room and paid a premium for a room described as a "river view", bypassing cheaper rooms described as "courtyard view" Mistake. The courtyard view rooms were closer to the river and had a better view of the river and better access to the river. My heart set on a river front room so I could launch and keep track of a kayak, I burned the reservation and found a nearby hotel with a room that put me right on the river. Only lost $35 on the empty room, so it was well worth moving. Had I not had the kayak, the hotel looked great- though the check in staff was a little surly about checking in early on a day when the temperature was 39 degrees. With tourists from cold climates arriving at all hours, you'd figure they'd be a little more accommodating when it's that hot- it's not as if K-Buri has lots of places to go and hang out in the A/C waiting for check in time.

Close to Kwai Bridge, friendly staff.
I had reservations for one of the two Classic rooms, #18. After checking out the room, found no wifi and the bed was horrible! Asked if we could move to other Classic room if avail. It was and they were very accommodating with the switch, as well as trying to get wifi for my iPad in the new room, #17, as it too had no wifi that I could get. But in the morning, after a restless sleep, found out that the bed was just as horrible as the other one. Asked if we could possible move to cheaper room with a good better bed. Once again, they were very accommodating with moving. And this room had good wifi as well! Staff was nice and friendly, breakfast was nothing great, but there is a restaurant you can walk to that is good, with sweets available too.

Near the bridge
Little time was actually spent in the venue so this review is based on limited knowledge. After booking there was no way to email the hotel to request a twin room. This had not been an option and Expedia said the hotel should be contacted directly. Not helpful. Therefore we were in a double, it was large but mightily uncomfortable. I like a firm bed but this was rock hard. There was no way to turn lights off from the bed. I don't mind the basic concrete look but there was no place to hang mosquitos nets from, they were needed. It was noisey due to other people I believe, above us definitely. We arrived very late and left very early so only dealt with night staff who spoke very little English. This made things tough to discuss, therefore I have no idea what the place has to offer.

Quiet garden guesthouse only 300m from the Bridge
Loved the garden, right on the river and the closest budget accommodation to the bridge over the River Kwai. A choice of 6 different kinds of rooms and a well priced little restaurant make up for being a good walk from the cluster of bars and eateries at the busier end of the strip. A real gem close by is The Library Cafe for great coffee, cakes and deserts. If you like peace and quiet this is for you.

Bamboo house was a great place to stay! Right on the River Kwai, a short walk to death railway bridge and restaurants. 2 small complaints: we didn't get to check in at 2, they made us wait until 3, and no English TV channels. Other than that, it was very nice!

The hotel has a great location. Very close to the bridge and railway station. I are able to book activities direct at the hotel. A scooter rental and laundry place are 100m up the street. The hotel restaurant offers a basic but good breakfast and a basic menu for the evening for a good price. The rooms are ok. The floor and beds are clean but the walls would need more attention. We had a lot of spider webs... U good see that they were there for quite some time. Overall a good stay (we extended)

The hotel is in a really nice location with views of the river. Room was clean and tidy, and although basic was fine for an overnight stay. WiFi worked OK, but was a bit slow. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Basically, you get what you paid for, and I was more than happy with what I got here for the price.

Lovely raft room on the Kwai
Stayed for one night in the 'luxury' raft. The room itself was lovely with a stunning view of the river Kwai although the bathroom was quite basic. Unfortunately we didn't sleep all that well as there seemed to be a lot of noise coming from somewhere nearby.The lady who works on reception was very friendly and helpful, as were all of the staff we met. The restaurant is basic, serving a limited range of options did breakfast and a few Thai dishes for dinner. Overall Bamboo guesthouse was a great little place and I'd recommend staying in one of the their river rafts as the views are beautiful!

It was a cheaper hotel, and we received exactly what we payed for. The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean. We upgraded when we arrived so that we'd be on the river, not all the rooms are on the river. It was really nice as the houses moved when their were waves. Really relaxing. It was overall nice and very close to the Bridge over Quai River

A great little get away
Hotel staff were nice, as was breakfast although not great choice at dinner. The only down side was that the hotel is current in the process of upsizing which meant some building work was going on but the staff were apologetic about that. Close to the bridge and an excellent view of the water. Would stay again without hesitation.
