"The room was somewhat dated but it was clean enough for a 3-star hotel. The air conditioner worked well. The breakfast is mostly cereal and carbs, but it was nice to have hot coffee and some food before going to the Grand Canyon. In that case, the location can't be beat. The place is obviously full during popular time, but the activity and noise went on throughout the night and the walls and ceilings don't prevent much of the noise from waking you up. Be prepared to hear doors opening and slamming shut for those that get up at 5 am to get to the National Park early."
Holiday Inn Resort The Squire at Grand Canyon by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"We had a premium room and it was great. It has a very large bathroom, with an extra sink and vanity outside of the bathroom. The pools, yard games and s'mores every night were fun. It was a great way to relax after busy hiking days. Would definitely recommend for families! "
"Despite sending me 16 emails to me between booking and the day of our stay, the management never managed to send me the 1) renter agreement, 2) check-in information, or 3) property / stay information. I had to call the main line to get the check-in information an hour and a half after our check-in time. I later called back to get the wifi information and nobody answered, so we never got access to that.
I think that management should focus on sending less emails overall, making sure they provide necessary info in a timely manner, and making sure that what they send is relevant.
The property overall was quiet and seemed well kept, though plain. Some of the lights at the property didn't work and there was zero hot water in the kitchen sink which made washing dishes difficult. "
"Bed was very uncomfortable. Hardly slept the two nights there. Then there was a train horn early in the morning.. one of the towels had a mystery brown stain. "
"It was good for our journey, but is very isolated. Quite a few maintenance items to address. No bathroom handle, screen door handle, sink sprayer, broken curtain frame, difficultly with some windows, septic tank was near full when we arrived.
Good parts it would be a good get away from all things, seems like it would have great potential with better maintenance and oversight. We did enjoy the nights there the vast sky at night was beautiful.
Bedding and unit was quite clean.
