They cancelled my reservation 4 hours before check in. Had to sleep in my car in the sierra winter because no other rooms were available in June Lake

Unfortunately our stay was cancelled by the host due to family illness. She did communicate that to us through the Hotels.com messaging. She apologized for canceling, ensured we would not be charged (we weren’t) and let us know several days in advance, giving us time to make alternative plans. We hope to be able to stay there another trip.

Property manager did not show up. Did not answer or return phone calls. Book this property at your own risk. Had to find other accommodations at the last minute. On the positive side June Lake locals or very nice and helpful.

The property management lacked communication, organization, and basic hospitality skills. Upon our arrival, we received very short notice the room we booked (Suite 8) through Expedia was given to another party. They booked us to the incorrect room even with confirmations from Expedia. The property manager tried to remedy the situation by reaching out to other establishments in the area to provide accommodations for eight men on a bachelor party. The solution was another hotel in the area and making us pay an extra $600 to accommodate for these rooms. The property manager continued to say it wasn't their fault for the incorrect booking. Zero accountability from the property manager. This just caused the bachelor to stress over the situation which was supposed to be a weekend of memories. There was no resolution. The property manager gave us a one bedroom within the same vicinity separating our bachelor party group. It ruined the weekend. There was no responsibility taken by the property manager who continuously said it wasn't their fault. It was disappointing situation and I would never recommend anyone to stay at the June Lake Chalet.

Communication concerns
The room was fine and clean, however the contact person was not in the office when we arrived for check at the stated time. I called her number which I was given to me when I called the number on the reservation,and the cell mailbox was full so I could not leave a message. I had to call again. Put in wrong room and had to switch rooms.Several days later I got a message regarding my card # and called back and could not reach her. Mailbox Full.

Hi, I work really hard to make sure accommadions are not just clean, but sanitized. Walls, floors and everything in a suite is cleaned by hand. Linens are changed so they are fresh and every possible measure available is taken to be sure our guests are safe and remain healthy. Unfortunately these days it is only me myself and I, so it is possible I will miss your call, especially if you call between 2 and 4 pm because I am typically working hardest during that time to prepare the rooms. On occasion guests are moved, but they are always upgraded as this guest was, but she didnt want it, which was fine. It was an upgrade to a unit with a full kitchen, which her reservation did not have. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience, I do try very hard to be sure everyone enjoys their stay. If you arrive and I am not here (which is rare, but could happen because I must tend to laundry or supplies, and other things) a key is always left for every guest, in a conveniently located basket, in the entry. I hope you'll come again, because your short one night stay wasn't long enough to enjoy our little June Lake Village. I know you left early for a hike with your friend and I hope it went well. I do still need to collect payment for your stay. Ill try reaching you again soon. Thank you and safe travels, Kennedy

Our stay was amazing!! Loved the property and check in was so graceful. It felt as if I was staying at a friend’s house. My husband and I will be back, we are already planning our next trip and will stay here again!!

Didn't prepare the room. (Wihtout notice, host changed the room and didn't clean. ) I complained, but She just refunded without even saying sorry. My entire holiday screwed up.

Worst place ever.
We rented the "Kitchenette" Room #3. It was awful. The worst place we've ever stayed. Upon arrival, nobody was there to greet us (fine.) but the keys weren't where they said they'd be. Called the owner, she instructed me to go into her extremely messy office and rummage through her crap to find our room key. Then, to add insult to injury the room was FREEZING and she told us to go to the bar, have a drink while it warmed up. Contacted owner about no internet, instructed to reset the router-it never worked.If you're considering this place, here's the gest: NO INTERNET NO HEAT (tiny, barely working heater provided but wasn't even on when we arrived so you could literally see your breath! We had coats on for the first three hours) UNCOMFORTABLE BED DIRTY - USED COFFEE IN THE POT AND NASTY (MOLDY?) FILTER NOT SOUNDPROOF - could hear upstairs guests like we were in the same room NO ONSITE HELP Booked two nights, after first night we received text from owner while we were at the ski resort, on a lift, which said we "better be prepared to pay her husband $150 when we got back" because she found out we had a dog. Even after we explained Charlie (our dog) is a service animal, Patricia told us we had to pay the extra cleaning fee. There are several websites which list this property as pet-friendly. Although, we didn't notice it said "no dogs" on hotels.com either way it shouldn't matter because legally he goes where my wife goes.

Guest became upset when we learned there was a pet and fee of $150 was requested. Refused to pay. We are a no pet facility. We were never told that the guest planned to have a pet. This guest never paid the fee, and owes $150. There are no sites that say we are a pet friendly hotel. Guests comments are false, he's upset that he owes money.

This property does not have central heat. The rooms are heated by space heaters. At -19 degrees (farenheit) the room was the coldest room I've ever been in. A second heater caused the breaker to trip and so at midnight, I had no heat and no electricity.

Property canceled my reservation 30 minutes before official time of check in. It was holiday weekend and all other properties were fully booked. I was not able to reach out or talk to a host neither on the phone nor in person.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
DO NOT STAY HERE!! No joke, don't do it. We are super easy going and flexible but this was way to much. I will just list issues. 1-Credit card charged way ahead of time even though it was supposed to upon arrival 2-Only 2 outlets worked in room. None in bathroom or kitchenette area or the television 3-They offered to move us but would have ment displacing another traveler on a holiday weekend so compromised as was told our room would be DEEPLY discounted for inconvenience ($100 was credited back to my card) 4-Way to much old and dated furniture 5-Room was never serviced in three days including no fresh towels. Apparently we needed to request this but was not told that and the owner had left for Southern Calif for the holiday. 6-LOUD when other guests were coming and going (we were on the bottom floor) 7-"toiletries" was every suave/white rain/head and shoulders left by other travelers. No soap. 8-Windows were sealed shut and no vent in bathroom so was like a sauna in room and musty June Lake is an amazing place to stay but this place really needs to be skipped if you are visiting. There are way better accommodations...literally any other place is better.

Great Trip!
The lady in charge did a good job always checking in on us and was welcoming. Cozy little place surrounded by a great small town. I would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable place to sleep multiple people while getting great value in return.

Patricia was very welcoming. The room was very clean, comfortable beds, bathroom had full size toiletries. The building is very quiet and location is prime and within walking distance to Gull Lake.

Too pricy
This is pretty old place. The room is roomy with full kitchen. Overall is ok condition but for the price we paid, I would expect more. The heater is out in the kitchen area so the bedroom was very cold while the kitchen was toasty!

We weren’t in the unit for long so aren’t able to evaluate fully. From the front the place seems a bit older but it’s very charming inside. We stayed in a small unit but there was an excellent use of space with specific instructions written down and all the equipment needed. We were greeted by the hostess and given a way to contact her if needed.

We had an amazing time in June Lake, staying at Silver Pines Chalet. The chalet was so homey and clean. We were very happy with the experience and the service we got. It is the perfect type of chalet you want to stay at to experience June. It is original June Lake style, yet very clean and updated furniture.

The room was stuffy to the point of sleeping poorly due to it. The thermostat on the wall was not functional. It would have been nice to have a fan in the room. It was nice to have a small refrigerator and microwave available. Location was not far from the lake.

The so called Chalet was nasty. It was dirty and dusty. The carpet had not been vacuumed in months. The room was extremely hot and the windows did not have screens. A ton of mosquitos would come in if left open. I found spiders in the shower and in the beds. I would never stay again and don't recommend this place. I was told to check in a 6pm because of car issues the owner was having. I showed up at 6pm and the beds had not been made. What a horrible experience with two kids in tow. The owner is selling the place, which is probably the reason why it is so runned down.

Comfortable house to stay
In general, we were satisfied with living here, especially we had a nice kitchen for my family to live with. The owner also introduced us to the house and the environment very friendly during the stay. The location of the house is close to the beautiful Gull Lake and even we can take a walk there. it's worth staying here for longer time. There were 2 things that made us felt inconvenient. One was hard to find enough and available power outlets to use. The other was that the shower room is too dark.
